Calling Prospects on a Sunday, Anyone Do It?

I have made calls on Sunday for years and it has never been an issue. I start around 4:30pm. I use to do this exclusively for years. Now I call Saturday mornings, but will call Sunday if I need to fill some slots in my day, or if I'm busy on Saturday.

Behind Saturday morning, Sunday (early evening) is the best time to call to set appointments. People are home!!! People are less likly to screen their calls on a Sunday too. That is the biggest obstacle of dialing during the week, in addition to trying to catch them at home.

Travis you are only confirming what my instinct tells. People are pretty relaxed late Sunday afternoon to evening and I would think it an excellent time to call DMV leads.

Just curious if anyone calls on Sunday to set up for Monday...?

Are the folks usually receptive to receiving calls on Sunday?

I know many FE agents that call on Sunday evening for Mon and Tues appointments. They are calling from lead reply cards.

I don't know of anyone cold calling on Sunday and couldn't imagine that would be a viable way to do business.

I tried calling on Sunday evenings many years ago and it didn't go well so I stopped doing it. That wasn't for FE.

I haven't had a need to try it again with FE because my schedule the way I do it works for me. But if I needed to I would give Sunday calling a go again. But only from reply cards.

Sunday is the BEST day to call... between 4 and 7 PM...

Ron, I thought you were deciding where to get your insurance license...

Don't take me wrong, I like helping but aren't you putting the Cart before the Horse?

I am still deciding where to take my pre license course.

I tend to ask a lot of questions, but plan to hit the ground at 100mph from the get go, sort of planning out in my head how I would do things which was the reason for the question.
Pretty great responses on here. Thanks everyone for the info.

I agree on Sundays afternoon, shortly after church is over

You joined in December 2011. It is time to take action or move on. Unless there is something else going on it sounds like avoidance behavior.

Thanks for the feedback,
just to clear the air a little on why it has taken me so long...

I was working for a company from 2009-2012 in a completely unrelated field, tho sales were involved.

I moved up the ranks pretty fast and became a regional manager with an income of around $200k a year. late 2011 I realized the company was in financial trouble and decided to look at options for a "back up plan" in case things went south. This was one of my back up plans as it had the potential to provide me with an income and lifestyle I was accustomed to. And that is when I joined the forum.

Beginning of 2012 the company I was working for closed up and went into bankruptcy. Rather than moving forward with final Expense I started my own company doing basically the same work I was doing.

Business was rocking and rolling, in 10 months we did $1.4 million in revenue, however the new business required me to be away from home, on the road for about 80% of the time. I would be gone 4-6 weeks straight, then home for a week and then repeat. It really started to take a toll on my family life as we have a baby. So just a few weeks ago I sold my half of the company to my business partner.

So with that said, I hope that clears things up as to why I joined in 2011 and haven't moved forward yet. Now that I have sold my other company, I am going to pursue Final Expense and will be dedicated to making it work.
