Can I Pay for My Clients Elevation Certificate?

I have clients that want to switch their flood insurance over but their current agent (surprise surprise) will not send a copy of the elevation certificate or they claim they "lost" it.

Since flood insurance pricing is set by FEMA, we all have the same pricing. It is just a matter of convenience for the customer since we have the Homeowners policy after saving them money. It seems the customers cant switch agents without paying for an elevation cert.

ANY IDEAS????

Thanks in advance.

Wouldnt that be rebating, so probally a NO.......let that policy cancel and rewrite it

There are no "workarounds"? That just is not logical. If a flood customer ever wants to change insurance agents they will need to have a copy of their elevation cert (as if any would actually save them) or buy a new one. Doesnt seem fair to the client. I guess that is the way it goes...

Well, remember 2 things, it really isnt insurance per say, and second, its a Govt thing.:nah::swoon:

You would pay $400.00 for a elevation certificate to get their flood policy? At least that is what flood certificates go for around here...why not just ask the client if the know the surveyor that did it and obtain a copy that way?

I seem to remember being able to do what they called a rollover application to change from one agent to another. I don't think it required an elevation cert (either that or the policy I was working with didn't need one anyway).

I would recommend contacting someone at NFIP. If the quoting web site is the same for everyone (I'm not sure if it's different because I do it through WYO company) then you can log on there and click on a button to chat with someone to ask. They've always been really helpful for me.
