Can I replace an MA plan w/ med supp before Nov. 15

Thanks guys. He has had his MAPD plan for more than 12 months. He does qualify medically. Appointment set for Wednesday at noon. Effective date for supp will be 1/1.

Good job! I think we are going to see a lot of that this year.

I already have had several people call me who are very disenchanted with the PFFS plans they were sold. (In case you don't know, I don't sell them.)

Unfortunately I have talked to some who have gone beyond the twelve months and cannot qualify medically. Most are very unhappy campers to say the least.

I tell them to contact AARP.

Thanks Frank. I don't sale the PFFS plans either although I am certified with a company or two to sale them. I just like a supplement better. On a side note. My father just moved to MO. He is living in the Branson area. He has 25 yrs of Insurance sales experience. He has been out of the bus for 11 yrs now but is looking at getting his MO license and focusing on Med supps. He is almost ready to test for his state license and will be looking for some appointments. What are some companies that you recommend in MO? I hope you don't mind me asking?

No, I don't mind at all. I enjoy talking to and helping other agents when I can.

Are you asking about Med Supp companies or "lead" companies?

Give me a call and I will share what I know about the insurance companies and how I get my "leads".

Frank:

Why don't you just contract and certify so you can sell the AARP plans yourself? (I recommend Ramiz for this since I don't have a non-resident license in MO).

If AARP proves to be expensive, you can move them to a lower priced company on their policy anniversary without underwriting. Did you know you can do that in Missouri?

Damn Rick, no wonder you make the big bucks. When I grow up I want to be just like you. I'm still pretty new in this business and I guess I have a lot to learn.

You mean I can do that without having to ask health questions? Wow, that is going to be just like giving away PFFS plans. Thanks so much for the "heads up".

Is it okay if I call you for help with other things I don't know about selling insurance in Missouri? I think you are going to be my new hero.

I'm thinking about starting an association to help the less fortunate insurance agents in MO learn the business.

$299 down, $79 per month until you understand insurance. Can you commit to $3,500? I'll throw in a pair of pajamas.

Damn, do you really think I can learn all of that in only 3.69 years? Well, maybe with your help if I try real hard.

Any chance you can throw in some kind of software program? The wind blew my piles of 4x6 index cards all over the place and now I can't find anything.

Frank, when are you going to get windows on your house? I have a friend who lives near you who sells siding and windows. You want me to send him over? He can help you get rid of your scotch as well.

Greensky, Frank is from the "Show Me State" so I'd leave the pajamas part out of this. Unless...

I agree with most of the responses above and add that last night I moved a sweet 84 yr old MA granny back to Original Medi and placed her Med Supp with United of Omaha, a Mutual of Omaha company. They make this conversion so easy!

She and her daughter on November 15 will call 1800Medicare and request Jan 1st Original Medi . And I will also send CAN letter to carrier and a copy too Mutual of Omaha. She's in her 12 month trial period and she knew about this procedure a year ago. I tell, document, and remind all MA / MAPD clients of this one time use it or lose it opportunity. Not doing so is malpractice. Not all will take it, but, I've CoveredMyButt!

That isn't totally correct. If he had a Med Supp and it has been less than twelve months since he took the MA plan he can, does not have to, go back to the same company he had his Med Supp with originally.

The only reason he might do that is if the only way he can get a Med Supp is through Guaranteed Issue. In other words his former Med Supp company has to take him back in the first twelve months.

If he can successfully answer the health questions on an app, he can take any Med Supp policy from any company that is offering them.

Frank,

Thank's for clarifying that for me. You really have to love the forum for all of its knowledge. Thank You.
