Thinking of working for a veteran Farmers agent with lots of experience in PC.He wants 50% and 50% recurring. I will be using his office, but getting no draw. Leads and etc., will becoming out of my own pocket, but I am thinking the price of admission in learning this business is his take.

I have sold financials and life, but don't know PC. Wondering if this is the prudent path to take to get in this business?

I would look for other options with another insurance office to work for. Maybe for another captive agency to learn the business. The best place would be with an indy agency. There are alot of agencies out there that will pay a salary or salary+plus commission for someone that is licensed and has sales experience.

I looked at an independent agency and they pay 40% with no salary. I looked at another one and they pay salary and 20%. I don't need the salary right now, but don't have the experience with these products.

Go with whomever can give you the best training. Eventually you will want to go on your own INDY.

You might make less per policy with an IA, but you will or should write MUCH more business
