Aetna takes bi-polar?

It doesn't say Yes or No but Bipolar is listed as a Declinable condition by Assurant but not by Aetna-here is the Underwriting Guide for Aetna:


Anxiety/Depression
Requires counseling only; stable without medication; no suicide A
Including:


attempts; no hospitalization; no treatment for stress related
Anxiety conditions for 2 or more years
Depression
Panic Attacks Same criteria as (A), but single hospitalization requiring admission to B
PMS hospital over 2 years ago; maintained on single medication
Stress Related


Same criteria as (B), but 2 hospitalizations requiring admission to C
Conditions:


hospital in 5 years; single suicide attempt 5-10 years ago; maintained
Chest Pain on 2 medications
Chronic Pain
Digestive Problems Same criteria as (C), but two inpatient hospital stays in past 3 years S
Fibromyalgia without suicide attempt
Insomnia
Abnormal Heart Beat Does not meet any of above criteria; may require hospitalization; D
Migraines requires multiple medications


 
Well thats "uncle tom" for you... lol. This of course was just an example, but I see it happen alot in my family.

And this may be too personal of an issue here - but in 12/06, I had to have back surgery - then had two pulmonary emboli (the kind that they said they were suprised I was alive) - After all this - I started to fall into a depression (self diagnosed) and started falling in that "i think I have X condition" like my family does... Getting involved into the insurance business really SAVED me. It gave me something to focus my mind and energies on -

There is a god - and he's probably an insurance man. :)
 
I don't know but a lot of app's have a ques. at the end "have you been declined, rated up,etc. by another insurance co., if Aetna has this ques. then it may be too late for their daughter because I certainly would not perjure myself for a 102 prem.
