I have referred at least 5 that had no real SEP...guess what...each got enrolled.

One guy told me he was diagnosed with cancer and his doctor told him to get some insurance before he gets treatment. Referred to marketplace...not touching that one.

I've referred several to Healthcare.gov too for their SEP and then followed up with an AOR form to the carrier.

I don't think these new SEP restrictions will apply to the Marketplace assisters. They may not even go into effect until 2017. Our slow government can't get new rules in place for February 1st..that's just 2 weeks from now.

Obama could pull out his turbo pen though. Presidents do that a lot during their last year. It would make health insurers happy.

Brilliant!

How is that working for you?

It's not brilliant. It is common sense to let the Marketplace take care of the questionable SEP enrollments. After they're enrolled, submit a simple AOR and they become your client.

That's right..you transitioned out of Individual Health didn't you, Somarco. Now I understand why you didn't know about this technique. Hope you're enjoying success in your new endeavor.

Not only did I bid adieu to IFP but I never wrote a single exchange plan. Still think that AOR move is brilliant and I don't give out compliments capriciously.

I went to a BCBS meeting where a couple of guys were bragging that they never did, and never will, write Exchange business. It was off-exchange, or group for them. They had less gray hair and looked more prosperous than the rest of us.

Looks like we're kicking some texas butt, except in El Paso. Could it be this soon to be marketing relic made a difference? Wonder what it will look like next year with Miami-care?

Texas trailing Florida in Obamacare sign-ups | Dallas Morning News

Florida has more insurance agents and brokers hawking exchange policies.

South Florida cities, including Miami, have seen a proliferation of storefront sign-up locations run by agents and brokers. Many have put up signs or pay people to walk alongside traffic carrying placards.

"When you go to Miami, it looks like everybody and their brother is selling Obamacare," said Annette Raveneau, the national Latino press secretary for Enroll America, a nonprofit with ties to the Obama administration. "You see signs everywhere, 'Obamacare here. Obamacare here.' I've never seen that in any of the cities I've traveled to in Texas."
