Cigna Guaranteeing 20%?

Just got a call from an agent friend of mine. Apparently his Cigna rep just called and said 20% is guaranteed for 12 months through December.

So, write a Cigna deal in December and the agent will receive 12 months at 20%.

Anyone else confirm? I'm not appointed through them.

In a way who cares...I'm assuming you are not contracted because they are not a force in your market.

Well he does run an association for health ins agents, so this would be great news for agents like me in FL, where Cigna is very competitive.

That's my point. If this is correct, then an agent would write where Cigna is competitive, sleep at night and be guaranteed 20%.

I heard the exact opposite out of some higher up's than just a Rep about 2 weeks ago! Who cares what they say right now, they will say anything to get you to write biz with them up untill the last minute when everyone has to show the hand they've been playing. Will see who has a pair of 3's and who has a full house on the last day of November.

It doesn't really matter what they are paying right now in Colorado and some other states. They won't even have approved rates for the 10/1 or 10/15 eff dates Due to the DOI trying to figure it out as they go and try to implement all the changes. Same thing with a few other carriers in Colorado right now. I have 2 apps I have to just sit on and wait for 10/1 rates right now.

Good news: Guaranteed 20% for 12 months through December.
Bad news: Guaranteed commission cut on business written in January?

P.S. Unless the rep has it in writing, it's worth the same as the paper it's written on, which means if its not on paper, its not worth very much!!!
