CIGNA is holding a "Broker Momentum Event" here in town tomorrow morning, and I've never seen the number of emails, follow up calls, robocalls, etc. to promote it and follow up.

I think the local rep was a little put off when I called her to see what they were serving for breakfast...

Heads rolling in the HO? Are they doing this in all markets?

Nothing here, but I did have lunch with my rep last month. She said Cigna wanted them to identify their top 50 brokers and see them every month.

I have no idea how I managed to rank a lunch. That is the 3rd in the last 6 months and I can't believe I am a "top 50" producer for them.

Trying to decide if suffering the "talking suits from a podium" is worth a breakfast and seeing some people I know to shoot the sh*t and keep up with the scoop and scandal...

Should have come to Atlanta. Got a nice portfolio type notepad. Much better than the ones from Humana and Blue but not as nice as what KP gave me.

Speaking of food...(typing through mouthfuls of Chinese lunch - lo mein). Last time through, CIGNA's was a little better than average; fresh fruit, bagels, danish, juices, coffee, tea etc.

If I'm going to suffer the self-aggrandizing nincompoops from the HO (maybe I should eat and see some friends/colleagues, then leave) it's gotta be better than thawed danish and bad coffee...

I was going to tell the local rep lady that I was looking for a couple of carving stations, eggs benedict and mimosas, that sort of thing, but I didn't think she'd get it.

Sometimes the best part is seeing all the Jerry Springer Show-like characters that are portraying "agents & brokers", it's always a confidence boost! If you ask them how many cases they placed last year, the answer is usually, "well, I almost had one."
