Client Wants to Have Car Driven from CA to FL

ONe of my clients asked me this and I told her I'd ask. She has full overage on her car. and wants someone to drive her car from ca to fl and she was hoping to avoid having it trucked. If she found someone , craigslist, for ex, that wanted to use her car while they went from CA to FL, would it be covered if the car disappeared,, etc.. I told her to get a copy of the d/l of the driver and she might be ok, and to drop her ded just in case

I think doing it for a fee is going to cause problems, since technically it could be considered (in my opinion) a livery or conveyance to move something for a fee using the car.

she allows them to "borrow" the car, coverage, its called permissive use

Get a friend to do it and then buy them lunch afterwards or something. Take them to a concert in FL or something because you're a great friend.

me personally, I would rather truck it, who wants all those extra miles on their car?

Plus, if they find a multiple trucking place, it would probally be cheaper than paying for gas driving cross country.........

I like it. Find someone on craigslist that you've never met before to drive the car out. In just gas, miles, and the few bucks to pay someone, even if it was just food and hotel, I can't imagine there is much savings there.

Having been in the Auto transport business for over 25 years. You are better off trucking it. Check with a few companies and they will lower the price.

If she finds the right carrier she can probably get it trucked for how much? I am guessing $600 based on what I have seen from car sellers on ebay.

and how much would cost, wear and tear and what 3000 miles be to the car?

Just saying MY preference would be to ship it
