I agree with you. I figure $300-$500 in gas, plus meals, plus a motel. Then how does the driver get back.

I say save the money, get someone off Craigslist and while your at it make sure to help the Nigerian Prince who wants to transfer all his money into your account. Anyone give odds on how many people who go with this approach end up with a stolen car?

Many years ago, drive away companies, were the norm. They match, car and driver. But the owner took all the risk. I would check with a fla auto transport company, they would be more competitive, because thay would look at it as a back haul. Price could be from 600-1000.

You should check out Uship.com. I believe that is the broker all the guys from Shipping Wars bid on for their loads. They could use it to fill out a load or as a backhaul.

Try to deal with an actual auto transporter, not a broker. They just skim a couple of hundred dollars off the top.
