Client with Lincoln Heritage

$8000 face for a 63 year old male would be $49/mo. non smoker and $57.16/mo for smoker.

For a 64 year old male it's $50.84/mo non smoker and $59.32/mo smoker.

LH rates are not terrible for male smokers. Still need to find out what he has for sure if you are looking to replace.

It cannot be the preferred plan because it's a $10,000 minimum.

Those prices are with none of the crappy AD&D added in.

You are so right about the $10,000 minimum on preferred. I have never sold a preferred policy. But then again, for some reason my average LH client is a 65 or older male smoker. I have always believed that for male smokers over 55/60 that LH was a competitive product and the FCGS was a good benefit.

I don't want to get in to a pissing match with anyone, especially the Primerica ump hater "crabcake" (just joking) but I will not try to replace a policy just to replace it because I have a better deal by a few bucks. I really believe that with the estimated premium/month he is going to be better off keeping his LH policy.

The FCGS is a decent benefit. It's wothless until the policy has been in force for two years.

I wouldn't replace the policy for just a couple of bucks either, but I would have put him in a better deal than LH in the beginning.

This is another instance where RNA missed the boat hwne they made Royal Prime into Essential life and made it a $25000 minimum. When it was a $10,000 minimum it would blow away the smoker rates of other companies on healthy people. Even rated a few tables it was far superior to anything in the market pricewise.

That was another of RNA's business prevention rules that really hurt agents in the field.

Until you see the policy or call LH direct all you have is conversation. There are just too many variables to make an educated decision. If he doesn't have the policy, you grab the phone with him there and call LH.

If the numbers are close to Foresters or Royal neighbor, you sell the many extra free benefits you get with either company over LH and go for the rewrite.

You also sell yourself. If down the road they need help, you will be there. If they have friends who need your help you will make it worth their while; read that as you like.

If down the road they chose to bump their coverage, your a phone call away. SELL YOURSELF

NO MORE MR. NICE GUY for me. I have had a couple of bogus replacements of my policies that were sent to the state and the state did nothing.

From what I have seen and been exposed to, its a dog eat dog world out there and we are all wearing MILKBONE UNDERWEAR.

If there is even an inkling of a reason to rewrite it, PRESENT THE FACTS AND LET THEM DECIDE.

They might like the free member benefits?

They might not like the other agent because he made some mistakes on the EFT?

May he mis- calculated the payments and they came in a little higher than they expected?

Maybe he had Bad Breath?

Maybe he drove a Foreign car?

Maybe his new Cadilac left a puddle of oil in his drive?

Maybe he just likes you better and trusts you more?

Who knows what their hot button might be? They do and its up to us to find out.

I am not saying to rip the guy off. I am saying to present the facts and let decide which is the better value.
