CMS Wants More Agents

Yep, feel the same way after today. In the middle of subsidy app again and it went down. I have not completed one yet through the marketplace and really don't care if I do. I've written many in past two weeks off exchange and a few MAPD's. So if one come's my way I will try but not going to fret over it. If the stooge wants the enrollment number's he needs to get the site fixed and apologize to the insurance company's and let the public know to call an insurance agent.

I was doing a subsidy app online at about 5 pm today and it Crashed.

I think I'll go listen to some "Obamacare by Morning".

I was doing mine about 4 when it happened. I listened to "wasting away in obamaville" all the way home and hour and 45 minutes drive. No didn't go just for the individual, had appt after an over 65 seminar.

This is how easy it is to sell off exchange if you have the right client base...

Met with a couple of people in a doctor's office yesterday, they have been my clients for a few years (including the doctor and his wife).

The receptionist, 27, is engaged to a guy who is 24 with congenital heart issues, he hasn't been able to afford health insurance and needs a bunch of things treated sooner rather than later. Platinum plan, no deductible, is $330 a month-I had the quote and app done in 10 minutes.

One of their nurses has lots of issues, is paying $900+ a month with a $3500 deductible plan. Platinum plan, no deductible, is $832 a month. Sent the quote, got a phone call this morning, app will be submitted tomorrow morning and instantly approved.

With opportunities like this just waiting out there, why screw around with a subsidy based app with no guarantee of compensation and a messed up web site that might work sometime before the next millennium?

Off exchange apps, and 2013 apps are no brainers.

Question is, when do you tell your subsidy eligible clients they are on their own?

This forum is visited by a lot of health insurance and government officials to gauge what's going on from an agent's perspective.

I bet insurers love seeing how we're helping the high utilization users enroll in health plans, and the government reading how we're helping the healthy enroll in 2013 plans to avoid the exchanges and expensive 2014 plans for another year. (sarcasm)

Oh well...they both created the game. We're just learning how to play it in the way that's most beneficial to our customers..right?

Good, let them visit maybe something up stairs will ring a bell and realize they need the agents and if they don't advertise it pretty soon it will be a lost open enrollment season. Only the agents can make it happen (enrollment numbers), we can't change the quirks in the law but we can certainly help build it.

For you carrier's that visit that are holding seminar's for under 65 at 6PM, wrong time for the people you want to attract. Seminar's at this time conflict with young family's getting their kids to evening school events, mid age people just want to get home.
