CMS Wants More Agents

as long as they have not submitted carrier app.

So this is not like MAPD where the last one in wins? What if someone signs on with another agent in January? Do you lose or do you keep that client until their Money Order fails to show up on time?

If it is for a 1-1-14 effective date you would be AOR.

If the Money Order don't show up then Nobody wins. Same as it ever was.

If you are the AOR on hc.gov and are appointed with the carrier they chose you keep the business. You can't delete an account on hc.gov.

It looks like CMS was not successful with attracting more agents to market/sell policies in the Federal and State Marketplaces. There's still only 71,000(approx.) registered nationwide.

If you look at the list of agents you will see that not every agent is listed for the individual marketplace as some are SHOP only.

The Bureau of Labor for 2012 states that there where 443,400 insurance agent jobs then. So if that number is study then only about 16% of agents are certified to sell on the exchanges and again some of them are SHOP only.

Thanks for parsing the data Duaine! Has anyone here done SHOP enrollments? Is relatively easy to find and enroll small businesses? I only certified for IFPlans.

That could be accurate with all the p/c only agents out there. Still seems low to me, but I do know a bunch of agents who were multiline that decided to sit ACA out and focus on the p/c side of their business.
