Cold Calling Final Expense

Absolutely nothing. However, it has been shown here, over and over again that "good" and "lead source" is an oxymoron.

Usually the only people who post here saying they have found a "good lead source" are people who are trying to sell leads.

I agree that some may be better than others at least for a while but are there any really good ones for any appreciable length of time?

I welcome any and all to post the name of the "good source" and define what they mean by "good". I have yet to find a "good one" for the senior market other than the leads I generate myself. It sure hasn't been direct mail or internet leads, at least not for Med Supps.

Idk... i was scared at first to try them but they told me that it was a money back guaranty with their leads and they used paypal so i figured why not cause if was a scam or better yet crappy leads i would at least get my money back you know. With most companies even the big one you never see your money again and you tell them you are having problems with their leads they never replace them as they promise they would. These guys seem legit I hope they stay that way and dont go all corporate on me lol Oh yeah good means I did about 6.5k AP in one week with them not bad if you ask me. I should also note that i am using there pre-set apts and i haved tired any of there other leads

I have been in the Insurance Business Cold Calling For 12 Years! I have never bought leads. I wont say that I will never do it, but I have found after the few leads that I have had provided to me was worked. I AM THE BEST LEAD SOURCE! ME, MYSELF, AND I. The cheapest and most successful way to get leads is through me. It is time for us to learn the value of hard work. There is no easy way to obtain good warm leads, unless you are ALWAYS PROSPECTING!!!!

I think that make who you are perfectly clear and I feel the EXACT same way.

Thanks for clearing that up for us. This is a difficult medium to communicate in. Many times what we think we are saying comes across totally different when we reduce it to writing.

Believe me I have quit this business many times too. I have went through slumps, and have even went into other ventures, but when it is all said and done, I come running back realizing that the only way to be successful in this business is by working hard. Plain and simple. We all like the easy way out, but there just isnt one.

Ok why are you screaming tho lol we all know there is more than one recipe for making an apple pie. Cold calling works for you and those guys calling works for me. As long as you are happy that is all that should matter.

lol! Just attempting to make a point that many dont consider. I read here so many trashing lead companies and how they wasted their money. There would be no waste of money if you generated your own leads, and leads are only as good as the agent that is working them. I have worked about 100 2 year old mailer cards that was given to me by an agent that said he couldnt do anything else with them. I ate for a year off of those old cards. I think us sales people get to belly aching from time to time. Simply put, it is time to put our big boy pants on and go to work. I am not against the way that works for you, but the belly aching is naseous to say the least. There is no easy remedy for making a living in this business. It is all about hard work. Regardless of the source by which you obtain your leads.

i totally agree even tho they set my appointments i always follow up with the people myself i am always handing out cards to people i meet being proactive and working hard goes a long way. nothing like doing something for yourself. Lead companies can only do so much its up to us agents to do the rest.

That is what I am saying. A true sales person is always asking for referrals, and prospecting to the point they may not even need a lead company if they are good enough. Nothing wrong with the lead companies though.

Hi, Jmatos:

Most of the time when I am cold-calling, I am simply trying to get an appt to find out the prospects needs. If the prospect says, "yes, I need life ins," I find out exactly what they are looking for (or try to guide them as to an adequate amount of insurance, etc.). Then I like to go back to the office and weigh the options amongst the carriers that I have access to This also gives the prospect time between the cold-call and appt to think about what they really want. Remember, they weren't expecting me to walk in the door during the cold-call.

When setting the presentation to go over the quotes (w/i 24-48 hours -- strike while the iron is HOT), I make sure the husband and wife are BOTH present, so that I don't get sabotaged by one spouse telling the other that they need to "think about it." Or, worse, the prospect asking me to come back to explain it all over again to the spouse.

When I am cold-calling, I am trying to cover as much geography I can in the 4 hours that I devote to cold calling. May approach involves what I like to think of as a one/two punch.

VISIT ONE:
1) Cold Call
2) Find out what prospect wants during cold call

VISIT TWO:
3) set appt for prospect (and spouse, if married)
4) close

May seem archaic, but it works for me. Plus, I want to see the SPOUSE and make sure there aren't any blatant illnesses, disabilities.

So you prospect all day and get the needed info, and then you return with a proposal and hope to close the deal? Why dont you do the proposal right there on the spot? Just curious. Thanks for your reply.
