Coventry/PDP Plans

Your insurance license not the actual appointment with the company. They are making sure that your CE credits/insurance license are active and up to date. At least that's what they told me.

It's so ridiculous, it's laughable. They've been paying me renewals each month. If there was any problem they should inform me in writing or email of what they need and by a certain date.

I got an email about a month ago from United Healthcare wanting proof of my E & O coverage, which I faxed to them. They gave me about 6 weeks to get the information to them. I called them a few days after I faxed in what they needed and everything was okay.

Shitty way of doing business on someone's end(Coventry or M of O), or both.

Thanks for your help. I'm waiting for Erika w/Coventry and Rose w/M of O to call back.

Also, wouldn't a company know that an agent is licensed before appointing him and allowing him to write policies for them, which I've been doing since PDP's started?

When I sent in a copy of my license it showed that it was expiring in 2006. In the state of Mi they don't send out new licenses anymore when you take your CE classes and have your license renewed. Maybe that's what happened in your case. Coventry just has to verify it by looking on the insurance departments website that shows you are current.

My resident state, Florida, issues a photo ID. I've had mine since August 3rd, 1991. I have a nonresident license in Alabama which is renewed every 2 years by the last day of your month of birth. You pay a $40 fee to renew it($20 per year). That's it. I've been writing PDP's with Coventry since November 15th, 2005 with no problems.....until now that is.

How did it work out Russ? Were they able to tell you what the exact problem was.

Nope...neither Rose at M of O or Erika at Coventry returned my calls(which is why I hate it when someone says..."I'll get back with you."). Yeah....right. I'll be holding my breath. I did call M of O back earlier this afternoon and another lady said they had had other agents with a similar problem. She said she would let Rose know I had called back.

Thanks Rose and thanks Erika for returning my calls. Real professional job of following up with an agent.

insurance0707...thanks for trying to help. I appreciate it. I just got home from writing a med-supp. The lady said she would wait on the PDP from AdvantraRX since she isn't taking anything and she's not exactly rich. I didn't push her to buy it being I would probably never get paid on it anyway.

Well at least you sold the Med supp. That's always a good feeling when you make a sale. You might want to print this sheet out and show it to your clients when you go on appointments. It gives them the criteria on getting assistance on the Part D prescription plans either with a $0 premium if they qualify for full assistance or social security paying 25%, 50% or 75% of their premium if they qualify for partial assistance. I try and show this to all of my clients. I just tell them if you think you might qualify to call their local social security office. Although the last person I showed it to ended up qualifying not only for free prescription coverage but also full medicaid. I'm glad I was able to help her, no sale for me on the med supp. though

Here's the chart.

You might want to mail it out to the lady you saw today, you'll be suprised at how many qualify.

Thanks for the chart. I doubt she would qualify. She works at McDonalds in the early mornings making up biscuits + she draws social security. Her husband gets 2 retirement checks + social security. My guess is they get at least $2,500 a month income. I'll send her the chart though.

I'll post anything I hear tomorrow on the PDP commission dilemma.
