🎙️ Cross-Selling: When, How, and IF You Should Do It 🎙️

Not all agents should cross-sell—and that's okay. But how do you know when it's appropriate?

💬 After watching, let us know:

What's your go-to product for cross-selling?

Are you already doing this, or do you need to start?

Share this with your fellow agents who need a quick boost in their sales strategy! 💡

If I place one policy in the house, I'm AN agent. If I place 2 or more, now I'm THEIR agent! It is fact that multiple policies sold will stick better than just one.

I do however somewhat disagree with the "Mastering of one product" as opposed to beginning to cross sell right out of the gate. I have found that it really depends on the agent. Where I started, everybody started out cross-selling. That's how we were taught and there was no problems with it and there was no question about it. There wasn't even a concept of learning one thing at the time. Now, there certainly is going to be different products that different agents gravitate to, but it's not that you can't learn several at the time.
Now, are there some agents that do need to learn one at the time? YES! There are some that just can't learn well by taking on several. That's the oddball, not the norm.

Whether it was grade school, high school, college, or a regular job...you learn more than one thing at the time. We're used to it.

Whether you think you can or you think you can't...you're right!

Overall, Nick & Jordan... Great job!! Lots of nuggets here.

Good advice. From someone who was never a producer and has never trained a producer. So there's that.

Why do you think you know my life better than I do? Is it because deep down you've just got to be right? YOU are one of those oddballs JD, just in case you don't realize exactly what I was saying.

Once again, as I've told you many times before, you don't know what I have done in my life. I will put my sales ability against yours anytime. You give great advice for selling FE alone, but as far as anything else, you should stay in your lane because you don't have what it takes to sell anything else. You're a one trick pony! You really should gallop on out of something you can't, or maybe better, won't understand.

I'm sure I've sold more Medicare plans than you ever dreamed of selling.

I don't know anything about you other than you are a pimp.

And and a phony.

So again. Just show one company trip you ever earned on your own pen.

You can't because you haven't.

Just show one agent you ever trained that earned a company trip on their own pen.

You can't because that person doesn't exist.

I'm not trying to put my sales ability against anyone. It doesn't matter since I don't recruit.

You recruit and claim to train. So your ability to sell and train does matter.

Even so I would not have mentioned you had you not entered yourself into the conversation to pick real producers apart.

Now go whine about not getting enough likes.

First off, I didn't pick "real" producers apart. That's ridiculous of you to even say that.
That's right, you don't know about me. I've sold thousands of med supps and about the same for FE. I did this before you even thought about becoming a one trick pony. You are the one who failed at insurance before that. You once said you had sold quite a few MA plans as well. You mentioned that you walked away from about 3000 of them, or at least that's what I recall. If I do recall correctly, you are an out and out liar! No one in their right mind would walk away from that kind of renewal base. You probably haven't even written 100 MA plans. I say written instead of "sold" because we all know, anything other than FE just fell in your lap. You don't cross-sell and have as much said so. You're not an advocate of cross-selling, so I don't know why you had to make a remark on this thread. Sure, they talked about you, but it wasn't very favorable if you ask me. Kind of sounded like they were making fun of you. But they love you...LMAO!
There are agents on this forum that I have trained, but I'll not say who they are just to satisfy an asshat like you. If they want to step forward, then it's up to them.
As for company trips, I was going on them before you were in the business. How can I prove something that happened 20 years ago? Do you really think I kept some kind of records on those trips? You're an *** if you think I did. I will say that I have not earned one on my own business in probably 13 or so years, but that's not relevant to what I know. You have no idea of my knowledge nor will you ever know. It goes over your head.
You just can't stand that somebody can do something that you're not capable of doing, can you?
You can call me a phony all you want, but you're just flat out wrong. You ASSume a lot, which does make you an ASS.
As for "likes", I said that about you not giving anyone likes because it shows that you have zero respect for anyone else but yourself and your fatass buddy, Travis. I used to have some respect for Travis, but once his wife tried scamming the system, that went out the window. I've never had much respect for you because you show none to anyone but your little click. You don't even show any to Scott and he can cross-sell circles around you any day. You attack DonP daily because you can't be him!

I'll say this hands down without even hesitating . Maintaining and retaining a large book of mapd is 5000 times harder than selling fe . I fully understand why many agents don't want to screw with mapd especially the low income ones . Yesterday i fielded 46 calls for service . Today already 23. Fe at a high level is transactional . You rarely if ever hear from 80% of them . With mapd it requires massive work to get those massive renewals .

This month will mark 53 years selling insurance for me. I got here before there were FMOs and IMOs. Hell, I'm pretty sure I was here before FE was even a thing.

Along the way I've lost count of the FMOs and IMOs that have come and gone and I can spot a pimp or a poser from a mile away. That's what you get with experience.

I currently use 6 or 7 FMOs and write for close to 30 companies and I've been cross selling for years.

And Todd is my number one, go-to FMO. He knows the business and is certainly no pimp or poser. In fact, he's the only one I'd do business with with only a hand shake.
