This is an individual that presents himself as a financial guru. And he repeatly led people into a scam. He was paid while he did this. He refused to belive it was a scam.
Additionally, according to this article, "That promise came with a money-back guarantee."
I have said this before, another place - Call me crazy but if I were worth several hundred million dollars I would not advocate and promote a bad organization wtih a "money-back guarantee."
One Open question I have - Did Ramsey disclose [and how so] that he was being paid to endorse the product? Because: "The SEC charged eight celebrities, who also included the rappers Soulja Boy and Lil Yachty, the singers Austin Mahone and Akon, and the adult film star Kendra Lust for "illegally touting TRX and/or BTT without disclosing that they were compensated for doing so and the amount of their compensation""

I don't agree. The Bible thumping bit doesn't bother me one bit.... and I generally ick when people's have that over the top type mentality.
It's okay to monetize your knowledge. We all do it. What's not okay is that he may have known that this company was fraudulent and kept shilling them because they kept paying him.
In your analogy it would be if he was teaching people to fish, and to buy person X's special bait... to find out its just clay and still sell it.

This. When you leverage your celebrity to make money, you are responsible for what you say and who you represent. Ffs, Taylor Swift turned down a huge payday with FTX, because she did DD and thought it was a scam.
If Taylor can figure it out, Dave Ramsey should be able to...(not FTX, but the scam bit)
