Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

John: I'm asking your opinion because I value it - thats it. Am I positive or negative about this? - I'm both. There are many people in this forum (including me- except for Al3 because he knows everything already), who are looking for some industry guidance from the vets in the biz, thats you.

The irony M&M is agents act like it's a feeding frenzy with the current system. The failure rate is stunning. Why? Because it's difficult to find prospects who can pass through UW and afford the plans.

Most of the agents bitching about this can't put three deals together in the same week.

Opportunities will exist for those willing to make changes. I think the outrage against the proposed plan was exaggerated, IMO it came mostly from the Rep base, middle america, independents and Dems were not that opposed. I talk to quite a few people daily and never got the feeling there was that big public opposition, they were more concerned about their job, paying bills and who was on American Idol. In addition, there really might not be this groundswell against Dems in Nov and maybe the Dems figured this out.
I just received 3 health leads that I am going to call, can't worry about what might happen.

Blue: Good luck with those leads. When you call them be prepared to answer about 20 stupid questions regarding the new legislation. You might sell one in ten if you are lucky. The other 9 are now going to be waiting to get free healthcare because this bill passed. People are going to stop buying insurance at least for a few weeks if not months before the dust settles on this thing. They think things are going to change overnight. That is just the way people think without reasoning. I disagree John, it won't be business as usual for about 3 to 6 months and I'm not trying to be negative and I don't think the sky is falling.

Called all 3 of the leads, did chat about the bill, they understand it is a ways off, quoted some rates, sent apps to two of them.

This was all about providing health insurance for 30 million "Americans". You decide if illegals are to be included or not.

Most of those 30 million don't have health insurance by choice.

They can afford it. They can qualify. They just want to spend their money on something OTHER THAN health insurance.

But . . . they will take it as long as it is free.

30 million people.

Less than 10% of the population.

Change you can believe in.

I see Major Opportunities beyond the 30+ million unisured in 2014.

Many Businesses will drop Group Health Benefits and steer their workers into the exchanges and individual market. I say at Least double that 30 million figure. I see unlimited work for Agents and a boom coming.
