Desperate and in Need of Help and Advice.

There are plenty of KofC agents making it just fine. Alot of them make the Million Dollar Round Table so I think the potential to do well is there. I seriously doubt they would let one of their agents sell other companies products on the side.

Either stay for a while, and learn, how to sell. Or talk with a few of the IMO on the fourm, Todd, Twilight, Newby. To name a few.

The problem is that it is very hard to write a lot of applications and they do not care of how much you make. The training is non existent since they want you to knock on the doors or hang out at the council bar to try to sell small apps which makes me nothing.

You do not say what state you are in. This may help us in suggesting other options.

I looked into the KofC opportunity since I am a KofC and active in my parish. When I joined the Knights, I was told a rep would be calling me and I was to meet with them. I never got a call. My grand knight told me to look into it, so I did (he knew I was an insurance agent).

I met with the regional sales person. You can only sell to Knights. It is a warm sale since they are your "brothers". I would have certain parishes to market to and meet with.

What I did not like: They say you cannot work anywhere else (I was working on some other projects on the side, and they would have to go away). Only sell to Knights (limited). Training (which I did not need) was nill. Most of the parishes were older (I am one of the youngest Knights in my council, most are retired)

The more I looked into it, the more I decided it was not for me. If this says anything; I looked into it over 2 years ago, and the position is still open, and still running the same add in our Catholic paper...Due to the recent success, blah blah blah (I guess recent is a relative term).

As is success! ;) :err:

What do you do now and why did you pass it up?

True XRAC...success is determined many times by the individual over the circumstance, but I was not willing to give up my side projects of which SIMA was born (see the signature) which is what I am working on now.

I am sure there are some decent KofC opportunities out there, just depends on the involvement of the Knights, the support of management, the willingness of each council to have the agent there, etc. I can tell you about 85% of the Knights in my council are not active. If it was not a captive/career opportunity, I would have done it. But until they change that (and I do not see that being done) I am passing it.

800 people...let's say you make Monday and Tuesday your calling days for appointments...so 60 calls those 2 days and the other 3 to run appointments. That would give you 13 weeks of calls / appointments. Even if you called them 2x's that is only 6 months of work. You are leaving your prospecting to the councils to get new members (fresh leads). How many are they bringing on? Can greatly limit your success...

I think it is obvious why he passed it up. Limited support, limited clientele, cannot do any other projects (essentially are captive) and most of them are older and may or may not qualify.

I think you're getting as much information here as you are going to get. You sound like you are wanting to leave, the agents are basically saying to leave (majority), and the reasons they say to leave are reasons you are thinking about leaving.

It sounds like you are either going to move on or stay but we can't make the decision for you.
