Desperate and in Need of Help and Advice.

I don't see anything at all attractive about selling KofC fraternal life insurance. If they brokered it maybe. As a captive...no way.

I agree I have to deal with a lot of BS to keep my "job" as in having a application quota while the company doesn't care if I go broke by making no commission as long as I sell apps. My issue is not know what direction to go.

Whats so bad about them?

They want you to prospect to just a small group of people and you don't see the problem with that?

Even some of the K of C members won't buy their insurance through them because they don't want other members knowing their business.

They keep telling me that people will buy 7 times throughout their life so I will be able to sell within the same group of 800 year after year. I agree I feel people are out to get the best bang for their buck. I have seen alot of the members with insurance from the outside. My concern would be how to find people if I left.

It almost seems more difficult to get through to some of the people because they have been called by each agent that has had the territory assigned to them so they know exactly why I am calling and the ones who do let me in like to review or cancel or they take loans on their policies.

I don't know a single person who has bought life insurance 7 times throughout their life, let alone to the same carrier. They're blowing smoke up your arse trying to pass on renewals as new sales.

Best thing to do is leave now and hit the employment ads up for insurance salesmen and find an open market that isn't nearly as limited.

There are some agents/recruiters on here who might be able to help you. But as b61mack pointed out, your refusal to mention what state you're located in kills that option.

I spent most of my career with the Knights. Finally got tired of quantity over quality. They don't care how much money you make as long as you sell a lot of apps. New members are down across the board, as well as membership in general. Leaving was the best thing I ever did. I now have more options for my clients and I'm not forced to sell only their products. The Term rates are very high but they do have a competitive permanent plan. It all boils down to doing the best for yourself while doing best for your client. Good luck with your decision. I can tell you, from a personal standpoint, the grass IS greener on the other side!
