Different Insurance Carriers Spreadsheet

And it won't at times but that is why you have to critique it down to your state or states that you work in. In fact, if you were working multiple states, you'd already have to have that noted somewhere unless you are like JD and you possess some sorta photogeographic memory. :D

My spreed sheet is pretty nice. It has all the carrier phone numbers, websites, face amounts, names of products, issue ages, POS interview Y/N/YN???, phone or in person, diabetes, insulin, types (immediate, graded, modified), place for notes, ect. ect. those are just some I rattled off my head. The sheet is at my office. Must be a dozen more specifics on each carrier, I just can't think of them right now.

I'm surprised you don't have this as a service at FexQuotes. I would have bought one by now.

I have been around the block several times with this concept, but the problem we keep running into is the accuracy issue. Unlike the rates, it's extremely difficult to implement a health analysis with a high degree of accuracy for over 180 plans multiplied by 50 states.

However, this thread gave me an awesome idea that I will look into how to best implement. The idea would be a "personalized health analysis wizard/spreadsheet".

I am thinking we could create a form whereby the agent would answer a series of health questions for a particular company based on their state's application. Once the agent completes this form for however many carriers they are contracted with, they would now have their own personal health analysis wizard saved in the FEXQuotes system that would direct them to the appropriate product(s).

The benefit for this spreadsheet is to quickly learn where to place certain clients depending on their medical conditions.

Oh now I see, an "Easy Button".

The only way I would justify a purchase of such a spreadsheet would be to help in more special medical conditions where their is many carriers that you are under. FE is too easy to even consider such a spreadsheet.

I can print out a free quote through my broker with all the carriers without worrying about glitches.

I can see a use for a spreadsheet and pay decent money for complicated cases with health issues and that is where a good program (and a great programmer) would make it worth a purchase. I can see the Med Sup, MAPD market to be a possible viable candidate. There is a lot of variables that would have to be programmed, and I don't have time to develop such with all the different carriers and all the changes they do with UW and prices.

It would have to be very flexible and at the same time very user friendly.

Isn't a spreadsheet taking away the reason to be an Agent. If everyone could do it, then we are not needed.

You still can't underwrite by spreadsheet in the field. It takes probing questions and answers.

No, it was to make the process easier to find the right carrier via your agent work in the field by asking those health questions. It is just not practical for FE.

Maybe for the health market where there is a ton of carriers, via major med, long term care, or med sups and mapds.

Yep. If there were such an Easy Button and it was accurate then the companies would just bypass the agents and sell direct to the consumer. I'm sure they are hoping someone will perfect the sales process and make it easy so they can do just that.

I might have a pornographic memory but not "photogeographic".

Actaully it's simply about working at one's craft as a professional. I do not dabble in every line of insurance out there. I am a final expense agent. I want to master that business instead of being a jack of all trades.

I might need a cheat sheet for UL's or P&C or LTCi but since I do none of those I don't need anything for them.

I haven't seen any evidence that it would be any better. Many statistics show that more people are bound to lie when they fill out aplications vs being asked those questions by an agent.

As far as them bypassing an agent, you bet that would, you can count on that.

There is over 40 criteria on my spreadsheet. It even includes incentives and credits needed to win trips and even where the trip will be. For the carriers who don't offer this for example, it says NONE.

I don't think the sheet has missed anything and I've sent it off to one forum member who is working on it to make sure it is all correct.

If the carrier had an owner's manual for the agent, I'm pretty sure this would be it. With that said, there are lots of folks who have never read or even looked at their owner's manual.

I am not advocating an easy button because there isn't one. The spreadsheet is what it is. It's everything you want to know at a glance about every carrier you represent and ones you don't. Hell, it even has their rating, whether they are A, A-, B or not rated.

As I have said, I think it may need cleaned up a bit in the accuracy department and their is some stuff on it that doesn't need to be there (company logos and graphs). I suck at making spreadsheets or even redoing them so I'm having someone else do it or a few somebodies. Maybe I sent it to 2 people. :err:

Also, it even has all the websites built into it so if it was loaded say on a computer or ipad, you could just click on it and go where you want to go whether it be the agent site or the company site or whatever site or part of the carrier you wish like rates for instance.

It also tells you what riders are available for each product. Whole bunch of stuff.
