I finally reached my boiling point today. I wrote a PDP for a client who was aging in (turned 65 1/28). I wrote her an Advantra RX PDP value application in December, with a 1/1/09 effective date to coincide with her Medicare effective date. Easy slam dunk app right? WRONG!

They send her a letter on last Thursday saying they need "additional info", and to call in. No ID number on the letter. The NEXT DAY (Friday) she gets another letter, stating her enrollment was CANCELLED because they didn't get a response! They gave her all of 24 hours to respond.

Now today, 2/2, I call them starting at 10:00 AM EST, and they have no record of her WHATSOEVER. I spoke with 8 (yes, 8) different people. I was transferred to Medco 4 times, they said when the que at Advantra is full they bump all the calls to Medco mailorder. Obviously they were no help and wasted more time. By 12:30 PM EST, I gave the lady on the phone an earful, and hung up. I will just enroll her with Medicare directly, forfeit the commission and be done with the unbelievable company.

To date I still have received not one dime for 85 PDP apps written during the 08 AEP. This was the last straw! You have been warned!

I just had a case issued with them where an applicant was coming off of an MAPD in the OEP. The spouse called in when they got a letter requesting additional info and she just called me to let me know...issued/covered as of February 1st, 2009.

I'm in the same boat as you on commissions though.

I'd like to know the "one and only" person you talked to. Everyone I talk to including management is clueless about the difference of OEP nad SEP.

I'm not sure of the persons name. It was someone in the enrollment department. They told me I needed to get a copy of the letter from the MAPD the applicant is disenrolling from or the ID card. Something that shows proof the applicant had a MAPD. I called the applicant to let them know what was needed and they told me they got a letter from Coventry asking them for the information. That they had until February 18th to get it in. There was a phone number they could call in, in the letter to supply the information. The spouse called and gave Coventry the information. They were satified by a phone call...amazing!:goofy:

Don't be surprised if they get a second request for exactly the same information. I'm done with them except for T65'ers.

I was thinking that too....we'll see.

Maybe I'll get my big commish by summertime.

The whole conventry circus is a mess.

I worked late last night trying to fix a case they screwed up. Jan. 6 we submit an application via the Medicare web site for First Health. Jan 21 she gets a letter demanding proof of SEP. We can't get a person that knows crap from Coventry on the phone so we call Medicare. They do an enrollment and file a complaint with Coventry. Yesterday... she gets another letter in response to the application. So last night we get Medicare on the phone again and submit an application with Wellcare.

I have problems, but pound for pound, they are still the best option for most of my clients. They certainly are not the most organized, but anyone who has ever dealt with Todays Options or CIP knows just how bad things can be...
