Yeah, I had the audacity to enroll clients of mine, a very nice husband and wife, into a non-commissionable plan. Why? It was the plan that best suited their needs. Then, a few days ago, someone from the the general agency emails me, telling me to please not enroll members in non-commissionable plans. I am still biting my tongue, contemplating my proper response. There are far too many agents who are so shortsighted as to recognize the payoff from helping folks even when there is no immediate and direct compensation.
All of us here are self employed and need to balance altruism with profit. But some of us learned long ago there is gold in helping others even when you are not compensated.
