Does Anyone Know when the Additional Payments for MA Plans Will Be?

Finally, some answers.

Coventry is to pay first year commissions within the next two weeks. They are making true up payments on any clients that were new to Medicare Advantage plans with a 1/1/09 effective date. A Broker News Flash was released on Friday.

The payments are to be made on any clients that had Original Medicare and had never been in a Medicare Advantage plan before. If they had a Med. Supp and a PDP we will still be receiving first year commissions. I have heard that there are some other companies that are expected to avoid payments if the eligibles ever had a PDP. I personally don't think that the companies will get away with that. Coventry is where most of my business was written this past year, so I am confident that my agents and I will be getting paid correctly. Thank goodness.

They can continue to take there damn sweet time now since some of us agents have already losts just about everything.

Frank,

Well I guess you got the email from WellCare paying us as earned for all the business we wrote. Since they are not going to be offering PFFS plans next year.

Also, I was told that all the companies that sold the PFFS plans were looking to pay as earned.

How about that. We waited over 6 months and now we will wait another 6 months to get our money... I will never write for WellCare Again... But others will ..so I guess they know that..

Most recent word from Pyramid is agents to be paid lump sum for effective dates 1-1-09 at end of May. Others to be paid as verified shortly after. We will see.

I got that email from Wellcare. That is just BS. They say they are doing it because of chargebacks, that would be valid if agents were still out there writing Wellcare. Since they can't enroll people into Wellcare plans now, there is not a possibility of a chargeback being generated. Any chargebacks you currently have pending were to be taken from the second half that is owed now. They owe me the second half for 70 apps. I don't have any chargebacks as they have been cleared by my renewals. I'm not writing anymore Wellcare, so, I can't have any chargebacks except for a disenrollment which would be a partial chargeback and more than covered by my renewals, yet, they are now going to pay me what they owe me "as earned". If they pay at all?

I would like to have what I'm owed, but, I am so glad to be out of that business.

Producer Focus: Special Edition - CMS Initial-Year Commission Payments - Potential Delay
UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company's commission and finance teams are on track to complete the necessary system developments in order to pay initial-year commission rates. However, on May 20, 2009, we were notified that the files we received from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) were incorrect. CMS has communicated that revised files will be provided; however, no estimated time frame has been specified.

Please note that if we do not receive this files within the next seven days, the payments originally targeted for the first week of June may be delayed. We continue to work diligently with CMS and our internal partners to expedite this process.

Look for updates on this issue in the Tuesday, May 26, 2009, edition of our agent e-newsletter, "Producer Focus," and be assured that we will continue to provide new information as it is made available.

Thank you for your support and patience throughout this process, and for your continued dedication to our members.

Absolutely unbelievable! Incompetence, stupidity, arrogance, downright hatred and total disregard for agents, and downright dishonesty galore. These lunatics actually think we are all evil. Well if we're evil, are our families evil? Children? Spouses? Elderly parents we help support. Despicable, reprehensible conduct!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Hello, my first time here. PLEASE HELP. I was new to the MA insurance field as of OCT 08. I have already had enough. I just wish I had been around for years previous. I guess I just started at the absolute wrong time. I was selling mainly UnitedHealthCare products under an FMO. I haven't submitted any business since starting my new job a few weeks ago. My FMO got upset for me leaving and is withholding commissions from me I submitted in March on up. He's stating that since I am not writing any more business he has to keep my commissions in case of charge-backs up to a year. From my understanding, charge-backs can only occur after 3 months if it is a chronic-illness which are not even in my county. Anyway, he is going to owe me for initial MA enrollments as well, that is how I got to this forum in the first place. Can anyone tell me what my rights are in my situation as a independent broker agent working under an FMO? Is there an agency to call if he decides to just keep my money? I have never had a charge-back and I keep in touch with all my enrollees' to make sure they are satisfied and informed with what all the plan entails. I make sure they call me first to resolve any issues, and I have only had the best intentions with any potential client I ever serviced. Any info would be greatly appreciated as I have been very behind on bills transitioning jobs and this guy owes me enough to pay all my bills for the next coupe months!
