I know that there is a lot of "stuff" that you can't do without being licensed to sell life inursance, my question is about what you can do pre-license to start getting ready.

Just because I pass a class and then pass the state test doesn't mean that I'm going to know everything that I need to get started selling, and this forum is a great resource but where else should I be looking to learn more about the policies that I'll be selling ?

Can I pick 4-5 carriers and get them to send me information on their policies and selling/training tools without being licensed ? How is it done ?

You can get the brochures and UW guides for the major health carriers in FL without being licensed. You know Aetna, GR & Humana.

Learn your plans from front to back.

You'd be surprised how many licensed agent's do not understand how the plans they sell work.

For example, on a copay plan like GR's Copay Select, unlike what call centers want you to say, it is not a $100 copay to go to the ER, unless you've met your deductible first.

Same thing with XRay and Labs, subject to deductible and coinsurance unless it's a wellness visit.

And of course, get your planned presentation down. Learn how to qualify for finances, health history and decision making process. If you need scripts, pm me.

Of course, if you don't already, learn how to close. Always Be Closing.

Yes, the main thing you can't do is sell life insurance. I'd recommend finding an IMO to get you up to speed and go through them.

Actually, you won't really learn anything about selling. All you'll learn is what you need to pass the test. Again I would find a good IMO that has a good training program in place.

I'm assuming you're talking about life carriers. With all the questions you have again I would find a good IMO with training, instead of trying to go direct to the carriers. Most of them will have a few different carriers for you to use.
