Easy Pick Offs

We get a lot of poachers here from Indy and St Louis and Louisville.

The Bankers today was in Evansville. The other one was in a little town in Ky, Sturgis. That's where they have the "Little Sturgis" bike rally.

Well I might just have to try and become a poacher one week and see how it goes. :)

I just reread about 20 pages on twisting, misrepresentation and fraud etc. from NobleCE. They don't mince their words when it comes to Twisting, Misrepresentation and being unethical.

By planting a seed in a fraternal "certificate holders" mind that they have something inferior to a policy is very misleading, unethical and more than likely considered twisting. It is clearly a misrepresentation with the intent of obtaining a new commission.

For arguments sake take it a step further. I write between 8 and 10 Foresters policies a month. Would it be right for me to go into a home of a client and when I find out he has a Forester's Certificate plant a very fertile seed suggesting he would be much better served if he held a policy? And then throw in that I have seen a lot of agents complain about their customer service, and to top it all of the State Guaranty Fund might not cover them if they were to go bad. Of course not mentioning that that has not happened in 141 years.

It is very easy to paint a very bad picture of a company especially when replacement is on your mind.

I assume you give the pros and cons of their choices and let them decide. And haven't you seen a lot of agent complain about their service?

That was an issue I always had with EFES. They said the returns were terrible here but I would run into these agents from St, Louis, Indianapolis and Louisville that were coming in here. I replaced a LH last week and that guy had come here from Lexington to sell it.

How were those poachers getting leads here and EFES couldn't?

"I explain to clients that I personally do not write or own any Fraternal certificates"

Then you clearly state out of the other side of your mouth, you do write Fraternal's, as you have written 3 this year. So how and when do you decide if your going to talk them up or talk them down? Whether your replacing or not?

I said I mis spoke otherwise you would not have known that I sold those three. And they were not Foresters.

Many times I show clients the Fexquotes that include companies like Foresters, RNA and CSA. Then I give them my recommendations and reasoning. That is why they asked me to come and help them.

Probably the only time I have talked them up about 4 years ago when I first picked them up. Did not take much experience and reading this forum to see the errors of my ways.

What may help is knowing that these are not random leads. These are going to be clients, their families or referrals. Many times they have called me for help. Also we do all of our own service. We get several calls a day. From simple bank changes to medical values statements. So we know which companies we get good costumer service from and which ones suck. Foresters is not in the former camp. One thing about Foresters though is if they give you an answer that you do not like call right back and someone will give you a different one.

Your servicing experience must be different.

I guess you replaced a WL with a WL , for reasons such as price, riders, and what else ?.....

I would guess cash values. Sometimes they really need it and know they will never pay it back or the loan and premium payments will be to high. Some FE clients just can not stand having a few hundred dollars available and not get to it.

IMHO

What type of returns is Chris getting for you, or are you using someone different?

I thought I was working leads that came from Chris but I have been working Newby's old leads that he got from 360.

As I understand they came from somewhere in Ga. I have yet to work leads from Chris. Last week it looked like I had 3 more week of these old leads. They are sending a refresh letter for them.

The problem I have with the old leads is getting them on the phone. The ones I contact I am able to set appointments with most and once there it's the same ole ballgame. I had been working them for 2 weeks when someone on the friday call asked me what the lead said. I had to pull one out and read it. That was the first time I read what was on the card.

I have had to doorknock more of these than I care for since I can't get them on the phone.

I don't know if they have ordered leads for me yet.
