Newbie here...I am selling P&C on the side right now for an independent agency.

I've decided to focus on a niche that I feel will help me be successful long term. (EX: Construction or High End Restaurants) Are there schools or companies out there that provide specific training or education that can teach me the importance of certain coverages, insurance needs of these customers, etc?

I'd like to be able to advise prospective clients on their policies and provide some sort of value. Not just BS my way through and hope they like me on a personal level.

Hope I'm making sense.

Thanks

If Society Insurance is in your area I would encourage you to meet with one of their Marketing reps. Where are you? What state?

The short answer is no. It's something you have to learn by doing it. Every state and every insurance company is different so it would be hard for someone to write a book about it.
That being said on a general level you can get your CIC or CPCU designations which will help you know what coverages are important for what client.

I did find the national alliance for insurance and looked into the CIC/CPCU.

You would say you would recommend?

Thanks
