I doubt the IRS would do this, but if someone owes the IRS for previous year's taxes, can they take the subsidy to help satisfy the past debt?

You can take what I said to the bank. That's how it's gonna work.

Nope, can't take subsidies away for back taxes owed, otherwise another 5 million would go uninsured, it's not the dem way.

But, they can withhold a tax refund, if you owe the penalty, or if they "clawback" subsidies if you get an unexpected raise in your income. Giveth and taketh away.
