I need some help. I am thinking about making the jump into P&C from the life side and I am trying to figure out where to go and I was hoping that if anyone had any insight which of these seem to be better than the other or even if there is another carrier out there that is better, please let me know. Any help would be great. Thanks

As an independent agency owner or as a CSR/producer type arrangement?

If you're looking for your own agency I'm a bigger fan of the Allstate gig, but I'm biased a bit because I ran an office for about a year. Before hoping on any of them I'd check to see how competitive they are in your area. You might also want to take a long hard look at getting a mentor and going indy.

FYI, Erie is independent not captive. Yes they want to be number 1 in your agency but you can represent other carriers.

Absolutely go with Erie if those are your choices. State Farm is a good company but you are captive. Allstate, never hear anything good about them and I know agents and adjusters...plus their rates seem to always be sky high compared to others.

Erie, you are independent and they are very stable.

Do yourself a favor and Google "Erie Insurance Financial Statistics".. I have said it before and I'll continue to say, I am PROUD to say I am an Erie agent.
