Can anyone (web gurus) explain what would trigger this level of blog hit activity over such a short period? I see the links to top 3 referrers but see nothing on those sites linking to my blog. Curious, screen shot attached.

The only page view showing on your graph is mandatory CA maternity benefits.

Must be a bunch of single moms hitting your site.

It's weird for sure. In the time span only one view of each of three pages (maternity, security breach (old) and econ of IFP plans. Not sure these are really page views so am hoping one of the big web guru types like Brook or Alston or someone might have a clue what that activity represents (and does it help me ;)

I've hit your HIPAA page a number of times this week... and I've pointed two or three clients to it. You and I talked about it on the phone the other day. Would that account for the activity?

No, this is some kind of direct hits to my blog from those three web sites (seo777, googlesomething and the dot.tv one) listed on the right side. It's strange I am not sure what those sites are hitting as it doesn't reflect any specific blog post receiving those kinds of view numbers.

Possibly a scraper bot, you could use something like piwik to identify the traffic.

Do you show the browser being used? Any hits from curl or old versions of IE or firefox? thats a sign it might be a scraper.

I'll e-mail you over some blog activity screen shots, maybe you can figure it out?? It was heavy activity for two hours this morning.
