Do any of you F.E. guys have a cheat sheet or questionnaire you use to determine which company you will ultimately use or quote when sitting with a potential client?

I can see that over time one would know this information like the back of their hand but for someone like me who doesn't do FE full-time and has several different companies to choose from in their bag, some type of cheat sheet would be helpful.

I guess I could read the underwriting guidelines for every company and figure it out myself but I would probably still not get it 100% correct. It would also take a substantial amount of time to put together but in the end if that is what I have to do I guess I could have Todd help me

With that said, if anyone would like to make some general comments about specific companies and their sweet spots and what/who they won't take that might be helpful. If you have the information I'm looking for please post it or shoot me a PM. I know a lot of this information is scattered over various FE posts but I would like to see a thread specifically for underwriting on these FE companies. I realize this information changes from time to time for example one week there is no height and weight chart and next week they implement one or one day they don't have phone interviews and next week they implement those. That sorta stuff plus health conditions ect. ect. ect.

I'm looking for something complete or enough to get me started on creating my underwriting cheat sheet Bible.

THANKS!!!

COPD- diagnosed over a year+ Monumental, Assurity

Amputation due to diabetes - UHL

Heart attack, stroke-UHL goes out 12 months, while most go out 24. I been pretty lucky with most of my prospects- all seem to have had issues outside the 24 months so it makes it pretty easy to place.

But UHL does have a disablity income question which is frekin retarded to begin- you're dealing with seniors here... half of them are on disability income... flat out the most retarded question I've ever seen on an app- they actually put a client of mine on graded because of it.. had to rewrite him through another company

BTW, even though Foresters has a hgt/wgt on app- there is no build chart on their plan right level, they dont underwrite the hgt/wgt- you could put 5'2 450lbs as long as they fit inside 24 months they will get immediate

Forethought's new Freedom plan also has NO height and weight chart. They also pay full commission on graded and even ROP. That's quite a nice change. Their underwriting is similar to Foresters, although more strict on Diabetics. Must not have taken insulin shots prior to age 40 for level. Great rates, though.

You'd have to be pretty fat to not be able to fit into 2 years:D

......on second thought, maybe it was funnier in my head....

Their POS interview is quick.. identical to Foresters but with the Forethought-specific health questions. It's Apptical, so you're not waiting on hold.. they all speak perfect English, and you have a decision instantly.

They also don't require that you do it at point of sale. So if you are sending an application through the mail and back (approved in 48 states), the home office can do it once they receive the app.

They're issuing policies fast...and have daily EFT.

The new Freedom plan has only been out three months. Rates best Foresters in many cases, and full comp on graded and ROP.

What are the rates for male age 65 non smoker. $15,000. Level, Graded and ROP?

Thanks

I like the free grandchildren rider- thats nice, love the fact their Graded and ROP pay full comm.. thats pretty solid

However-

No desktop software?? C'mon man, we put a man on the moon 50 years ago- gotta get up to speed forethought- it really is a pain in the ass to calculate rates- Reminds me of my old days at Liberty National.

Dont like the fact they dont attach the Hippa form to the app pack.. never understood why ins companies do this crap- good night... it's not like I have enough forms from the other 15 companies cluttering up my office. Other than those two.. rates arnt bad at all.. ran a 72 female 30k and it was $5 more a month than Foresters yet has the free grandchildren rider...Had them in my bag for over a year now- just been a Foresters junkie the last 2 years, but that POS from Foresters is frekin snore vision
