Family First Life???

Got a mailer not too long ago and it was made to look like it was from my bank that holds my mortgage. Said it could sell me insurance on protecting my mortgage in case of death and there was a way to get all my premiums (very strange). I filled out my name and number and today I got a call from a Derek Dressler. Said he had to come to my house to make sure I was not terminally ill or was hooked up to an oxygen tank or something like that and that we could talk in the garage (very strange). Set up a meeting and after we hung up I researched his company and found out that this is just another MLM company selling "questionable insurance" with some bad reviews online along with a lot of people saying "proceed with caution." his company is mainly about recruiting people into their company and having them sell this "insurance." Called him back to cancel my appointment and he became very rude and irate. Told him I did not appreciate the deceptive practice with the mailer and he immediately blamed a "third party vendor" that sends them out and he buys leads from. I told him to shred my info and he sarcastically said, "I don't have a shredder so looks like I'm going to hang on to it and file it away." BE CAREFUL OF THIS COMPANY AND IT'S "SALES PEOPLE!"

If what you meant to say was *"and there was a way to get all my premiums _back_" Yes, there are different policies that by design are structured to allow you to get your premiums back in certain time frames if the policy is not used. there are many variations.

Ok, while maybe technically true, more likely it was so he had a better chance of closing you. There are thousands of agents that can get you set up online and over the phone. If you do not want to meet anyone face to face initially, don't. On the other hand if you at some point do want to sit down with an agent you need one that will do that also.

If he was rude and irate at simply losing an appointment imagine if you had needed service at some point. You may have dodged a bullet by not having him as an agent. Assuming you were polite and professional he should have been the same.

Ah, the problem with answering an ad or sending in a reply card. You very well could be in their, and other agents, call system for a year or so. You are now a lead that can be reworked and resold.

Now, all of that to say this. If you have a need to cover your mortgage for your family when you die or just want the information. That need does not go away just because you had a bad experience with one guy. Reach out to friends and family and find an insurance agent that will take care you your wants and needs. If you prefer not to go to friends and family call some online I believe there are many more professional insurance agents out there that the others. If someone is rude, pushy, demanding, or condescending hang up and move to the next one. However, if you find someone that is willing to spend time with you and you like their style give them the business.

Your need for Life Insurance does not go away because you had a bad experience with one guy.

EDIT: I am not trying to or offering to sell you.

WinoBlues may not be trying to sell you but if you do take time to contact him about your insurance, he will do a good job for you..

I'm just starting and i really don't want to get with a company and grow and have it fall out from under me.
So many points that FFL supposedly has handled but it's MLM and Nooooooo one over there will answer questions as to how to handle that.
I don't think MLM is a legit biz
I am just looking for good splits for hard work and a chance to build a team and keep it
Mortgage Protection
Living Benefits
Final expense
Retirement planning things but for real not 50% but at least 85%-%90
Is that doeable?

MLM certainly is a legit biz. You just need to be fully aware of the good and the bad before you jump so you know what you are getting into. It is just like any other business some can't make it and others thrive.

And by not make it, are you referring to the 99.7% who lose money each year, or the ones making part time income of about $0.30 an hour, or do you mean the ones really kicking it by selling dvds/booklets to the selling force, or hosting pay-to-attend seminars and conferences, or weekend retreats, or training schools.....none of which have anything in common with the role you are being recruited for......or even MLM for that matter.

I think he means that the entire insurance industry is MLM in a way. Just not the WFG/FFL/Avon/Primerica/Essential oil companies way.
