Hi everyone! Been reading this forum for several weeks .. very informative, and had a few good laughs too! I'm going independent soon. I have almost 6 yrs fe experience, and have a few questions...I noticed in doing carrier research that several have eapps...are they limited to iPads, or can they also be used on android devices? Also, learned about best plan pro ....has anyone used this? Opinion? Thx for any advice on this.

Most e-apps are web based so will work on any device that connects to the internet.

Best Plan Pro is like a really good and efficient cheat sheet, plus RX list, plus height weight chart, plus rate quotes all in one. So yes it's useful especially for new agents. You should focus on learning one or two main companies though or you will be less effective.

Who would u pick...TA or Security National Life? I've seen alot of people complain about TA's underwriting....or would u have both?

Well Trans doesn't have an eapp yet. I would not recommend them for someone going Indy off the start unless you have someone to scrub the apps before submission.

I led off with Trans for years, so I do that for our team.

If you like eapps and social security billing (the most important consideration in FE imo), I would look at Americans amicable, Prosperity and soon to be RNA.

Both are fine. TransAmerica is going to approve a lot more cases than Security National is. But SNL is usually more price competitive than Trans.

If I were in Alabama and choosing one company to be my main I would go with Family Benefit. They have a product that will accept 80% of your cases and good rates and easy to work with.

Trans is a very good company on underwriting but when you have issues they are one of the most difficult to resolve.

SNL seems less likely to approve cases than Trans (not horrible just selective) but if you are a big producer for them I think you will find their support to be top notch.

I had never heard of Best plan Pro and looked it up. Its very time consuming and cumbersome. Your not going to need 10-20 carriers. Also on the interview i saw he put in chf and it popped out Trans standard which is incorrect. Its much easier to learn 5 carriers up and down on their underwriting questions and google meds you don't know. Write each med on a piece of paper and what they take it for and when they ask in the interview its right there. But i find Fex quotes invaluable as i like to switch face amounts very quickly to come up with certain $ amounts for the client. Trans is invaluable in they take Copd and many heart meds and no height and weight. But unless your good with apps and scrub the app 2-3 times it a nightmare . They also take direct express and correct ss billing. Snl is great for graded plans in high comp and they have pretty good smoker rates. You also need a carrier for insulin and neuropathy , Thats either Trinity, Rna or American Amicable i believe . The most things i run into are Heart,Obesity ,Cancer and Copd. I'm also running into a lot of people that don't tell me they've been prescribed memory drugs.Thats Gi business or i believe Uhl takes that with graded and high comp.

I am used to scrubbing apps, and I have looked at Doug Massi's instructional video on their apps so i should be ok there. E apps dont really matter to me, just wanted to see if i needed a particular device. RNA is not in al, and i heard it doesn't look like they r coming anytime soon ( they don't like our mortality rates)...I dont think family benefits is here either.
