FE Cold Calling Script

Yeah, but get to the point WE all really wanna know....was she HOT??

She was good for the ego since she's 18 years younger than me. Hmm..hot? Let's just say she looked good from the neck down.
She still calls once in awhile asking to come over......

On a related note from the "just my luck" department. Ya know how we (men) like to watch the Spanish channels with the sound off, right? She must have been the only one in Florida that never wore anything 'lowcut'.

so do you bypass mobile home parks or apartment buildings? 4 sales off of door knocking ain't bad for a weeks worth of work. When do you start, 9, 10, 11am?
40 hour work week looks like close to $2,500 in commission using avg's. Good for you!

------------------------------------

I start around 9:30. I have not tried any mobile home parks or apartment buildings

Curious what % of knocks result in someone answering the door...?
[unscientifically; 1 out of 2, 1 out of 3, etc]
Also, out of at the door discussion that do not result in your entering the house, are there any call-back's or a chance for a sit at some point in the future...?
Your numbers seem pretty good... and frankly [and don't take this in a bad way] you are hitting them right between the eyes with your purpose of the call w/o any warm-up or other window dressing [it seems]. Once you learn how to work the door somewhat better and develop a more crafted presentation of questioning your numbers should go up, IMO. Or maybe this just takes more time and you get to fewer knocks; hard to say. The main element is that you are 'out there doing it' and this will result in some business as you can see.

------------------------------------

out of the 220 knocks
spoke with 94 people
3 appointments
4 apps
3 call backs
left a flyer at every house

SportsNut-, can you give me some ideas on the window dressing?

Good job -- is that a week's worth of activity?

I would recommend if you're going the door-knocking route to hand-deliver your policies, and make an active effort to ask for referrals -- ask for people who have retired recently... just got on disability... maybe had a loved one die...

Anyways, really good job on hustling.

PS: I would also recommend you wear a BADGE with your mug shot, your name, the company you represent (just pick one if it's multiple ones, or the one that sounds the most familiar), and put your license number, or, better yet, laminate a copy of your license and include it on the badge.

Rouse thinks it's corny but that's because he's an old codger like the guys and gals we're calling on. Us younguns need to take special care in legitimizing ourselves as quickly as possible to separate ourselves from magazine/alarm hustlers and Jehovah's Witnesses...

The problem is all the kids selling magazine subscriptions and family Bibles D2D wear name tags hanging around their neck and at your age, you look just like one of them.

I really like the personal approach of knocking on doors and in regards to the script just my two cents but don't reinvent the wheel...make it better. Those final expense commercials on TV were written and reviewed by some of the best in the industry... take those key points that really hit home and make it your own.

Hooky are you still doing this, and if so how's it going and have you changed your approach any? Also on a side note, is it unethical to use data from a dialer service to knock doors with?

Ya Hoosier, I'm still out there knocking doors every week. I know this makes me the FE oddball, lol..but I like it. I have not changed my approach at all from the original post. I try to knock 200-250 doors a week,
I am averaging an app for every 50 doors knocked. I have done mail drops, but the returns have been bad so I still door knock everyday when I'm out there. I have been averaging 4-5 apps a week. nothing great, but it's working for me.
I guess it just depends on your perspective and how much time you have to spend doing it. A year ago I was working two jobs 14 hours a day,six days a week in a warehouse after being let go from another job. So to me, out knocking on doors 6 hours a day is a piece of cake compared to that.

As far as the dialer question, Josh is your man for that.
