Why do they need back up? I've found them to be more responsive to the members and agents.

I've written enough business over the years to form an educated opinion on what I prefer to offer to my clients.

There was a time when even I said that, all things being equal I would prefer to not write a fraternal. But all things are not equal and I have changed my mind on that anyway.

All things being equal today I would chose a fraternal first.

If someone doesn't agree with that then they can just not write fraternals.

Depends on what you mean by equal. If you mean price and the price is equal for a fraternal and a non fraternal, I'm choosing the fraternal.

Among the fraternals that I write anyway. There might be some out there that I wouldn't chose first. But I'm not carrying a company that I wouldn't chose.

I recently termed my contract with Thrivent because they are too difficult to work with. Fraternal had nothing to do with it. A company can chose to be difficult. I can chose to not write them.
