I have sold a ton of AmAm-but they are by no means the 'best' by any definition. For telesales, some IMO's like them because they consider telesales friendly, and better than the other telesales friendly alternatives. Plus higher commissions than cheaper options. That is a subjective argument at best.

While I have not had a bad experience with them, there are a lot of companies I have NO experience with, so I can't really weigh in the way others can. Their opinions are not discounted because they don't match the experience I had. If anything, their experience with multiple carriers give their opinion more weight IMO.

The first four years of my career, AmAm was ALL I could sell through my IMO. What you just said is exactly why wanted to switch to an independent IMO. I hated putting people with COPD/seizures/weight/etc on ROP when they could easily be level.

I switched about a year ago to an independent IMO, I still led with AmAm just due to being so comfortable with the underwriting and process, I didnt want to switch everything 100% right off the bat. My goal was basically to work my way into a good carrier mix over time, rather than swap over 100% of my business at once and find out the hard way that a carrier was not working for me.
So far:
--Accendo----great experience. Everything I put with them would have been ROP with AmAm. Persistency is great and needed very little conservation effort.
--Great Western---Meh-I was only using them for direct express/debit card/GI, so I dont expect much, just trying to break even on the money I have already spent on these leads, which is about what it has been so far.
-Prosperity----Horrible experience, much worse than the 'meh for GW. Never again (especially because almost every niche they have, accendo also has.
-Mutual of omaha-Added a few months ago-tougher telesales process than AmAm, but better rates.
---CICA-Currently contracting with them-As long as there are no glaring persistency or placement difference when I start using them, their niches would eliminate the needs for
People usually hate what they cannot do. Am Am does not allow replacements in Kentucky. What does that tell you ?

Am Am will consistently have some of the lowest tobacco rates for level coverage for companies we write.
Accendo/GW.
I simply said there would not be level options for most folks, given the carrier lineup you recommended. Are you saying you're writing carriers besides the ones you recommended in order to get level coverage for those folks?

What false statement did I make?

No, I'm not insecure or weak. How did I describe myself that led you to believe that?

Wrong again. Just had a 40 minute hold time with AmAm an hour ago.

it was on our chat that another agent was number 52 in que.

You simply do not know what you're talking about or you are lying.

If anyone doubts it then just call them and see.

I've been dealing with Am Am longer than you've been in this business, so I do know what I'm talking about and I'm not lying.

One thing that I don't know is why you and your cohorts have trouble when the rest of us don't. I just called into them to "cancel a policy", which is option #7. I'm #5 in the que. A 4 minute wait....which is the longest I've heard. I will say though, I rarely need to call this department. Most of my calls are to contracting, agent support, or new business. No problem getting through for those departments

No one is talking about how good they were decades ago or even last year. We're saying they have had long hold times lately.

Why would we make this up?

I called AMAM today for a claim and didn't have any issues getting through to someone. About 5 mins later I got a call from Everest and they helped me get the claim paid. Released 100 percent of the funds right then.

And multiple people have said that they are not experiencing the long waiting times that you have described. Not decades ago or last year, now. Why would we make that up?

I don't doubt that you are having bad experiences, I just can't piece together why your hold times are so drastically different than mine and others.

Is this your experience with all departments you call, or just certain ones?

Just AmAm. It's been like this for the past few months. I'm guessing I've called them more than a dozen times these past 3 months. Never had under 20 minutes on hold.

I dial 800-736-7311. I press 1 for menu options; then I press 2. I literally tried it from a different number today around 12 PM Central time, and I was caller 41.

Maybe they do have my number flagged? If so, I'll just sit on hold and the client will see that their current company has very long hold times.

Stuff seems to be cyclical.

TA was the worst. However, my last couple of deals with them FU and SIWL both new business and CS picked up very quickly. Zero issues in placing the business also.
