Does anyone have any feedback and/or comments on working as a Financial Professional Associate for Prudential? I have an interview next week in the Denver, CO area...

Re: Prudential?

Pru is a good company to represent, but look closely at the office environment you are walking into. Many great insurance companies have Shi tty offices to work from. Trust your gut feelings and look at who is there.

I used to work for a very good company when I started out, but unfortunately, it was a s hit office to work from.

Good Luck.

Re: Prudential?

I had some friends who worked there...Great company, but all they really want you to do is sell their Prudential insurance products, and their Jennison Prudential Mutual funds....So sometimes you aren't the most competitive guy for Life insurance....But I know they do pay nice bonus's based upon the Prudential Policies you place...

They are a solid company. The bad side is this:

Compliance is has taken the company hostage. They still take the cake for largest class action law suit brought against an insurance company, and they got stung hard on that.

VUL is still something they want to talk about...

Term under 1 mill is a bit pricey

No whole life product...booo. They used to have a pretty good one too and the dividend they pay on the old WL contracts is pretty nice.

Marketing will be limited based on compliance approvals--they go above and beyond simply FINRA stuff.

Did I mention the compliance?

The good is this:

They are a solid company with a very well known name. Oddly, everyone seems to remember them for grab a piece of the rock and not for their lawsuit, which is great news.

Underwriting is pretty competitive. I've used them for informal inquiries in the past, and they were frequently competitive.

They have thousands of orphan accounts. This is like the sweetest song to a new agent. They should be able to pile names on your desk to call.

Bonus program is pretty attractive (or at least it was)

They pay for everything, especially when you're new.

The Variable Annuity is well liked and has some very sell-able features.

They have like a two month training program where they pay you. This is extremely rare in the industry.
