Fex is a great tool, but after you've written business for a few months you'll find out that you use different companies even MORE for how they underwrite than for price. You'll also begin to notice which company has price breaks at different points, who's cheaper for smokers etc.

From what I gather if is a great tool. It is not necessarily needed if you sell FE,
All I sell and prospect for is FE and I don't subscribe to FexQuotes.
Maybe I will one day but it is certainly not a requirement.

You are right...For me it comes in handy for cold door knocking and cold calling for a quick quote...but when you have someone at the door or on the phone explaining pre-existing conditions you have to know or do some research on where to place them.
Comes in really handy when someone wants a quote and you don't have your ratebooks.. Just pull up the rates using your browser on your Android or iPhone.. It also allows you to thin down your briefcase or presentation book.
