Final Expense Persistency: TELESALES vs F2F

There are endless posts on this forum where you say door knocking is “inefficient “.
Yes it’s easier to train for those that are willing because it actually works.
Why, in the world with any agent buying new direct mail leads not call the leads to set appointments? That just doesn’t make sense. If only 10% of them set appointment she still got some appointments. That’s the cream rising to the top. Then you’re just gonna go door knock the rest of them anyway just like you would have, so what’s the difference?

And the reason that many agencies don’t want the agents to call and set appointments is because they’re selling them previously worked leads.

The reason why Scott some guys like loading a route of 15-20 leads in tight mileage areas . If I got 1 set appt at 10 and 1 at 11 18 miles away it throws me off for the rest of the day . If one is a skilled door knocker they hit the first door at 9:45 and by 5 can have hit 12-18 doors in a tight area . If 10 people answer the door I’m selling 5-7 . Sure I understand the concept of selling the cream first that you can set appts with first then door knock the rest . I’ll spray an area and have many leads 3-5 miles apart . To each his own . There’s no right or wrong way . In the end all that matters is your net cash in your account at yr end .

Getting the card sender to answer the phone, not another member of the household, and to actually remember sending it in is a tall task itself.

If you do get some, getting them to agree to a 30 minute window to “drop of the information they requested” is NOT an an appointment, unless you have never been an in home salesperson.

We’ve been over this over and over for years and years. I would venture to say that guys that follow your lead to set appointments on the phone are out of the business by now or fell out long ago.

On the other hand,if it makes you and JD happy we can just play along like we’re a bunch of little kids and you guys are Santa Claus and his helper, giggle when you drop us these little tidbits of information on the FE forum.

Now,back to topic…….how about addressing the video, telesales persistency?

The facts do not support your fairy tales. And only someone that's never been trained would say 30 minutes.

When FEX had their first large symposium in 2014 you can go back over the logs and over 80% of those attendees are still with FEX and thriving. They don't recruit, just producers. Most all earn company trips every year and many earn 2 or more.

I've said it several times but you simply do not know what you don't know.

You want to pretend to speak for the broke agents out there but you are no spokesman for anyone but you. I get it that you just don't know. But there is no excuse for not learning.

You are just a clown show. You came on here and made a challenge a year or so ago. I accepted your challenge and you disappeared. I saw your picture on a milk carton shortly after that.

Your jealousy is showing again.

On Santa I’ll play along.

The weather forecast is sunny and in the 70’s all week, can’t stay on this channel good door knocking and fishing weather.

As I have said many times, cats get skinned in all kinds of ways... and most of the time the cat isn't the one that decides how they get skinned.

Hard working, talented agents get the job done, skinning the cat from tail to head or head to tail or something in between.

Now I haven't worked hard for over a year and a half... time to go get some cats!

Noah, I’m not sure what you think the whole strange part of setting appointments is. I understand you don’t wanna work that way. But you think guys who do set appointments drop out of the business within 1-year? Are you serious?

You realize I have a whole agency of guys that many of them have been with us for 5 to 10 years, who mostly call and set appointments every week when they get their new leads? Is this new information to you?

Do you realize that right at 50% of our agents who take leads weekly and call and set for their appointments earn at least one company convention trip every year? Some of them earn two trips. And all of them sell multiple companies and that’s not an easy thing to do to focus that much of your production to one or two companies.

i’ve told the story many times that I was like you for years. I mostly door knocked my leads. And I did well. I made a lot of sales and I made a lot of money and I earned a lot of conventions. I felt like I was at the top of the game. But I was in the field six days a week every week for years. When I met Travis he was selling just as much as me but he was only going out two days a week. I couldn’t believe it. He was doing a lot of things more efficiently than I was. But a huge one that’s easy to fix is that he was working by appointments.

Work however you want. No one else cares. But if you are trying to spin that telling agents to set appointments is a recruiting gimmick you are out of your mind.

Recruiting in itself is a gimmick and you know it.

Going into my 10th year now.

Mainly because I got with the right people who steered me straight.y
The genie has been out of the bottle quite a while now.

Happy new year to you Scott!
Whatever works for you brother!

If a skilled independent agent with strong companies in his bag gets into a house F2F and finds fresh overpriced or poorly underwritten business whether F2F or telesales he’s got a good shot at replacing that biz.

Reverse that…..if a skilled telesales agent with strong companies gets someone on the phone and finds that prospect with overpriced, poorly underwritten business what’s his chances of replacing that business ?

Tell us what the success rate of replacing that kind of business ?

Where’s the YouTube video of that ?
Very good point, noah! I have never replaced a policy by phone, unless it was a FE replacing their term policy, which they thought was whole life.
