I agree nothing wrong with LH I helped a laddy out today with them she was paying 200 month for a part f sup put here in a LH at 130.
. Of course, the assholes kept all of my renewals.
They can do that?
A warning about LH.......I didn't write that much with them....I write FE mainly with Shenandoah and Continental(until they pulled their FE products out of Florida)......but, LH will cancel your contract for lack of production. I was going through kidney failure in 2005....almost died and wound up on dialysis for a year and a half.....but LH would send me letters about canceling my contract if I didn't produce any business for them within the next 30 days. I wrote a letter to them explaining my health situation....they agreed to keep me active and then within 2-3 weeks, sent me another letter terminating me. Of course, the assholes kept all of my renewals. Granted FE renewals aren't that much, but I had a couple of policies with premiums at or near $100 a month. Some of what I had with them was still within the first year, before the commissions dropped.
I'm calling BS on their silly practices...especially when I was freakin sick and had lost 30-40 pounds and near death! F EM!
Better watch out for Continental (Genworth), too. They will cancel for non-production.
So far, Shenandoah hasn't dropped me, and I haven't written anything for them in '08. I have simply been busy with other products and activities. I even thought of dropping them at one time, but when Genworth dropped me just as I was about to publish my website (where I intended to list them), I considered that since Shenandoah hung in with me, that I would return the favor. I carry a couple other Med Sups, too, some with production, others not so.
I wrote a letter to the VP of Sales at Genworth that canned my contract and pointed out the fact that I didn't cost them anything to keep me and that I would be a potential sales source for zero cost. He never replied. I followed up with another pitch, this time copying everyone in the sales team, and still got not one reply. I junked all my sales literature from them and now that my shelves are cleared, I have room for some sales material of their competitors. With the financial problems at Genworth, I do not consider them a big loss, and think it is best to not be contracted with them any way.
It seems to me that your ultimate goal here is to get in and sell to the friends of your clients. That's called a referral dude, not a reference. You can disguise it any way you want but it's still a referral. If you want to call if a "reference" that's your prerogative. If you fill out an application trying to get a job, they ask for references, not referrals. That's because the company isn't going in trying to sell them something as their ultimate goal. The only reason you think this is something 'new' to us is because most of on here are not stupid enough to try and pull this underhandedness off. Illegal? I doubt it. Unethical? Absolutely!! Do the right thing because it's the right thing to do!
If this really is the way you think then you are a snake in the grass! Yep, it may be a personal attack but you deserve it for what you do. I have to wake up every day and fight against the conception about the ruthlessness of insurance agents and this is one of the very reasons why!
Now, if you're actually a good-hearted person and have just gotten on the wrong track, I humbly apologize and ask you to reconsider what you're doing and why you're actually doing it. If after that, you still think it's the right thing...then I hope you get what you deserve and soon!!
