I am coming to discover that I have SOAPDS, Senior One Appointment Per Day Syndrome. I starts out with having a Dr appointment at say, 2:00PM... Suddenly, you find it necessary to block out the whole day for it. Someone calls and wants to set an appointment for that day at 9:00AM, the response is, I can't do it that day, I have a Dr's appointment. If they suggest 6:00PM, the same response. I am sure all you FE folks that set appointments have run into this phenomenon.

It is possessive and gets worse as a person ages. I now am finding it crossing over into my business... If I have a Dr appointment, I find myself hesitating to setting a sales appointment for that same day. I had an appointment with my radiation oncologist this morning. I am now sitting at home on the forum becauxe I did not schedule anything for the rest of the day.. :twitchy:

Here is another:

LOL! For some folks, going to a DR appt is like a day out. I recall my MIL having her hair done, nails painted, and the VERY best cloths on to go see the dr.

Maybe it is time for a new marketing strategy.

Dr appts in AM. Nap after lunch so you are fresh for the evening.

Friends and relations will host insurance parties for you in the evening. You do a brief group talk and then take applications in the dining room while everybody else is in the TV room. Fewer appointments but more persons and more applications (product crossselling) per person than "standard" appointments. After 6 months you can write your new best seller, The Party System for Insurance Sales.
