Mary Landrieu is in. Next to cave will be what's her name there in Arkansas. Then it is off to the races.
Ride 'em cowboy. - Giddy-up.

Both of those Senators are from squirrel-eating states that voted for McCain even though they are democrats. In other words, they will support reform out on the floor but not all the Obama trinkets in it such as public option.

As discussed, Lincoln from arkansas just caved. It's a done deal now.

Prepare for combat. Christians and Lions on the Right. Al on the left.

There's a little bit of "sneakiness" in this scene with the banjo player (Billy Redden). Anyone know what it is?

It passes and hits Obama's desk before Christmas. Then the real work needs to be done carriers submit their applications and rates to the Secretary.

Immediate effects Jan. 2010:

•carriers must submit for approval
•carriers must post rate increases on their sites
•carriers cannot rescind unless fraud is determined by a third party panel
•national high risk pool - could not have had coverage for 6 months to qualify

Hold on there Tiger. Nothing is going to pass and hit Obama's desk by Christmas.

"Sneaky" as in a body double actually played the banjo? Or is it something more sinister???

As far as the bill, now Germany is following China's lead on our debt. Harry can spit out "it ain't gonna cost us anything" as much as he wants, but he's just pissing in an AlGoreHotAirWindTunnel. Might feel good while he's letting loose, but the blowback is ugly.

Could be true. This is not a vote on the bill tonight - just the 60 necessary votes to block the filibuster.

This only blocks the first filibuster. What several have agreed to is allowing this to go to the floor to be debated, which is only a step. After debate, they need 60 votes again to close debate and actually go to vote (where they need 51).

Getting the second vote of 60 is where the problem lies.
