Right, JD -- you have to figure out what method/approach works best not only for your bank account, but for your personality.

For example -- Lovely clears, what, $200,000AP COLD door-knocking in the South Side of Chicago? We all could door-knock and probably have a level of success similar -- but if you're head's not in the game on cold knocking, then you're not going to enjoy it, and probably not going to make money, either.

Success is as how you define it.

I agree with that. I would certainly consider Lovely to be a successful FE agent. I would not do what she does. It certainly wouldn't work for me.

Why wouldn't it work for you? Not trying to kiss ass but you are a seasoned FE agent that obviously is well versed on all your products and selling abilities.

Why must it be middle aged. I would love to speak with an attractive young female agent about my insurance...... Among other things :)

I see your point. :biggrin:

But, I have been just as successful at door knocking as calling for appointments. Another but, that may be also because I have not mastered the objecting participant on the other end.

I am married but I'm not dead, heck her doing my life insurance would be a big red flag as I've written my own but auto or homeowners now that's the ticket.

First off, in the area she works it would behoove you to be of color whether it's a male or a female. The only time I am of color is when I stay in the sun too long.:laugh:

The other thing is that I absolutely hate doorknocking, so my heart would not be in it. I only doorknock now as a last resort and not even then if I'm at my weekly goal.

I said on the plug and learn last week that, if they made a rule that we had to doorknock, I would get out of the FE business.

Lovely has branded herself as the "insurance lady" for that community. She helps them open bank accounts to pay for their insurance and those stay on the books, too. She lives in the area that she works.

That's two things that I do not do right there. I have helped people open bank accounts in the past. I don't do that anymore. I certainly do not my backyeard. I don't even work my own county.

She is a great agent, and person. She was not only RNA's top producer for 2011, she was also the top agent for persistancy.

She found a way that works for her and good on her for it. That method is not for me.
