I can assure you the slowness was not even the worst part. It was the attitude toward the beneficiary and her attorney (she was deaf and her attorney helps her with all her business).
I've never experienced service so bad. There is a reason that Foresters rates are usually cheap...they HAVE to be.

I barely did before. I'll let you guess about now.
There are too many good companies to put up with a poorly run one.

I posted this elsewhere on a different thread; maybe the CUNA thread but I will state it again.
I had asked for help on this forum about a 62FNT lady who got denied during the phone interveiw because of the way she answered the COPD question and what the MIB was showing. I got suggestions of Americo, MOunumental and a host of others as where to go to get it bought.
When I got a copy of the MIB in my hands I typed a story to go with the MIB and all though I had no proof of what I stated; ie doctors note etc, they changed it from a denial to a Level.
For the record I did send it to Americo and they called it graded and refused to budge. It was a $35,000 policy with a monthly premium of around $125 /month.
I don't know of anybody else who would have bought that deal level. I do agree that Foresters can be a big pain in the ass to deal with on occasion but Sometimes it worth taking some bad to get the good.
Forestters paid a claim on a policy I wrote about 16 months ago that in no way needed to be paid.
I wrote the lady a level $15K policy and she died about 5 months after taking it out. come to find out she died of a stage 4 cancer isue with her liver.
They sent me a questionaire asking me what I remembered about the lady and I filled it out and sent it in. About 3 weeks later the claim was paid.
Based upon my experience Foresters is a bear for the agent and a peach for the insured.
