I haven't checked in a few years, but in the past the only way that vets were entitled to government-paid LTC benefits is if the reason they are disabled and need care was due to a service connected disabilty.
Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, etc, are not service connected disabilities and would not be paid for.
There are income & asset guidelines and very little in the way of home care or ALF benefits.
Most care is provided for in a Veteran's nursing home and there are very few of those throughout the country.
In any scenario, I'm not sure if spending the rest of one's life in a government nursing home is the way to go.
