Friend As Beneficiary?

I have always wondered about the cat beneficiary....I have heard of rich people leaving a benefit to a pet. I assume they create a trust with a trustee because my cat does not have any identification how would they claim the funds.

My pets are chipped, so they could id them that way!

Technically a pet's insurable interest is without question...

That is true. A pet is completely dependent on the owner for food, shelter, etc. Just don't tell your cat that.

Columbian and Settler's will let you put a friend down as beneficiary

A cat wouldn't believe u anyways, or deny it... They don't believe they need anything from anybody.

My cat just lays around all day and feels entitled to all of the above. I guess I should be happy he can not vote. Guess I have to provide him a free cell phone now.

Now if you made a cat a beneficiary and if said cat did not use said money to pay for said funeral, that would certainly be my definition of a catastrophe.

Beneficiary change form is your friend...

I agree. I've had to list someone else as the beneficiary to get the policy issued and then take the beneficiary change form to policy delivery.

Does anybody know what the bene change form is called with RNA by chance? I'm lookin but I can't find it...

Nevermimd I think I found it, page 2 lol. RNA seems to have a generic change request form for any changes.

I was told that it could be a close friend, ie "Significant other" but that was with UHL.

I've had a couple of carriers that allowed it, but the client always calls at some point to change it to a family member.

I had this happen recently and one son was left off as bene because his father thought he was an asshole, then he was added to life insurance and left off annuity, then he was added to annuity, then a new life policy was taken out and all of his policies benes were changed to reflect that they share equally.

I never put a friend down as bene anymore, it is just a matter of time before they call to change it.
