GE is Dropping Retiree Coverage

Just got off the phone with my father - current GE retiree. He has not received any letter and has life and a prescription drug plan through them - not health, he has a supp for that.

Ann, can you get a copy of the letter and send it to me? We had a commenter offer some clarification, indicating those who retired early but did not turn 65 by 1/1/15 you would not get coverage.

John, because your father is a current retiree over age 65, it doesn't affect him. Following is a copy of the letter. I hope I'm reading the letter correctly, because I don't want to spread false info. But it appears to me to affect anyone not on the retiree program by 1/1/2015, and also not age 65 at that time.

Thanks Ann.

The person who commented on our blog would not reach age 65 by 1/1/2015, so he will not be eligible. That is so stated in the first paragraph of the letter you shared.

I was not calling you out. Our commenter was amplifying the post, not disputing it.

And this seems to bear that out, but you have to read between the lines if you are not or will not be 65 by 1/1/2015
