Getting into the Annuity Biz?

I'm just a senior market agent, who does life, annuities, med sup and ltci, but as long as you're running enough appointments and good at fact finding you will uncover plenty of annuity clients. I'm not a "heavy hitter" on annuities, but I've gathered between 1-3mm/yr for the last five years doing that. Leads, referrals, cross selling.

I will have to start doing that. The contracts I have don't have any annuity products.

Just ask every client where they keep their safe money. you'd be surprised the annuity money you can uncover.

X2 sorry to disagree with JD it takes just a couple minutes to ask. You can also ask if interest rates dropping on CDs has been an issue if they say Yes you can pivot to a MYG annuity or a split annuity concept. People don't need tons of money for you to help them.

Im still learning all this, what exactly is a MYG?

I use a wonderful company in South Florida but I believe they have agents all across the country. They help my hand all along the way as I was licensing and learning about annuities. The guy I work with is Bill and his number is 888-474-8565 x11.

No, i have not, but the agents that I know that have are using DM to invite prospects to their seminars and spending $20/person on food.

And that doesn't include the cost of the mailers. To properly fill a room for a seminar you may have to mail to 5,000-10,000 households. That can run a few thousand dollars before you even see the first prospect in a seminar.

Doing seminars isn't cheap and you better have a compelling presentation to get them to your office for the chance to sell them something.

That's a great point. If you're not a proficient presenter with a good story, seminars are going to be a waste of money. You also need to have an excellent process in place before, during, and after the event.
