Health Lead Flow

Well our company has been going good with our exclusive telemarketed health leads, but I have been thinking about another possible way to generate leads in a area. I was thinking about putting a group together to canvas business owners and ask the questions like a survey to generate leads. They do get calls from telemarkers every day, but really would like to talk with someone because they are paying way to much for there insurance. Whats your thoughts on that?

Good idea Bruce.

You could do the same in low income areas (projects) for FE too.

Just make sure you have some FE as well first . . .

I have experienced a tremendous SLOW in leads since April down here in FL. I have attributed this mainly to the "Obama Factor". The masses have taken everything from him hook, line, and sinker.

Many are on the sidelines waiting to "see what happens". No democrat since Truman has put but a ding into national healthcare. The unemployment rate in Florida is higher than an other state, as this isn't helping things. Typical unemployment can be collected for 6 months and there is now an extension of 13 weeks. The 'responsible' people that got laid off got on Cobra or bought ind. Many have run out of unemployment benefits and have dropped coverage altogether. With more morons per capita in Floreyduh, it has been quite a ride these last few months.

Times like this truly exhibit the value of a big book of reliable business. I think we'll be back on track by the end of summer (hopefully not the end of the year) when dipsh*t announces a few subsidies and and another "promise" to get healthcare on track during his tenure as President.

Lead quantities are not down.

Lead quality is down and quantity of quality leads is down.

Virtually all top tier lead vendors (You can figure it out I am not going to post their names) share with each other. They are supposed to police themselves to some maximum distribution level (for example 9 times).

Once the massive lead sharing started you can kiss quality good bye. Have you ever wondered why so many people never answer their phone, not one time? They are getting pounded into the ground.

Mike Levy said it best that lead QUALITY has always been a cottage industry and the amount of REAL USER INITIATED searches has always been FAR less than agent lead demand.

This is why you have sites like MyPoints, affiliate programs and every other goofy scam to con someone to fill out a lead form online. Any lead company that claims MASSIVE volume, rest assured 90% of the volume (or more) is complete utter $#@! - it is a basic math formula.

OK all of that above said - here is MY BOTTOM LINE. It comes down to ROI. If I can turn a profit, everything I just spit out of my mouth above becomes less relevant and more "part of the business" however the TIME and LABOR should not be ignored either. Time IS money with or without employees.

I don't work many health leads outside of referrals, so I can't really speak to that in a meaningful manner.

I can say home and auto lead flows are down, with quality sinking even further. Maybe it's with the number of leads down, the quality jumps out more, but I think the lead companies are selling fewer leads more times.

Of course, in this market it's a bit easier to see. People are not buying new cars or new houses, fewer people are refinancing, etc. The things that make people suddenly want to shop insurance are not happening.

Again, as TX said, it's all about ROI. Put a value on your time when you measure this, but if you can make a profit, keep going. If not, do something else.

I agree 100%. These already whores have moved to gang rape on us. This recession has been going on for some time, what do you think happened here in FL in the last 2 months? The lead flow has just become pathetic.

You can buy EXCLUSIVE dialer leads and telemarketed leads for a reasonable price still.

The key is ROI - just like stated above.

If someone can get 3 to 1 to 5 to 1 ROI and not have to chase leads - why not? The lead flow is certainly not dead.
