Good afternoon everyone,
Just thought I would introduce myself to the forum. I am 28 years old and brand spankin new to the insurance world. I have just moved up to NJ from sunny FL and I have started working at my family's independent agency. I have worked here for about a week or so and I start my licensing process on monday. I will be selling mostly life, which our agency has half heartedly offered but never focused on before. I have never sold insurance before, however I am confident I will do fine, I really believe in our agency. We have been in business for 63 years, the agency was started by my great grandfater and his two sons, I will be the 4th generation in the biz.
I am currently going through some severe culture shock as I was a fishing boat captain in FL until the bottom fell out and like a dummy I sunk all my savings into the business for the last two years, instead of shutting my doors and saving my cash. Live and learn I suppose.
Well that is me, and it's a pleasure to meet all of you. It seems this forum is a great reference tool and I am can't wait until I actually have something beneficial to add.
